00:00Stephanie White, I've been a defender, the coach of the Fever.
00:03Get her out of there. Get her out of there. Fire her ass today.
00:07I don't want her back on that bench.
00:10Stop defending the other players.
00:12Oh, she plays hard, DJ. That's just her being her.
00:16You see Caitlin in the press conference almost cover her ears and her eyes.
00:20Defend your players.
00:21First of all, you're wrong. It was a dirty play. She's gone.
00:25But when do you ever see, in like the NBA, a coach not defend their own players?
00:32She hasn't done it with Caitlin when Caitlin got punched in the throat.
00:35She didn't do it. I don't care if you agree with her or not.
00:38You're wrong.
00:39But it starts to make me think you care more about the overlying social issues
00:45and not pissing off other people in the league and saying men can play in the league
00:48because she's one of those coaches when asked,
00:52always is taking the far, like, left side of it.
00:56This isn't politics.
00:57Your player got assaulted.
01:00Defend your player in the press conference.
01:02Be like, yeah, that was a dirty play.
01:04She should have hit the showers.
01:05She acts like she's the coach of the other team.
01:08I don't care if she's the best X's and O's, which she's not.
01:10Get her the hell out of there.
01:12Either defend your players or get lost.
01:14Stephanie White.
01:16Yeah, we got to talk about Stephanie White,
01:21who is the coach of the Indiana Fever, WNBA, I cannot talk.
01:29The WNBA team, Indiana Fever, with Caitlin Clark and Stephanie, or Sophie Cunningham.
01:37So, you know, the coach, obviously, as you heard there, has no problem defending, you know,
01:46players from other teams and making a bunch of excuses.
01:48But when it comes to her own players, not so much.
01:52Not so much.
01:53Even though her players came out to defend her, like, here's Caitlin Clark.
01:59I talked to Steph earlier in the day, too, and, you know, I think we forget a lot of
02:03times, like, we're human, and she has feelings, and, you know, there's moments that are really
02:10hard, and sometimes that's just the job you sign up for, but at the same time, like, it's
02:16okay to feel those emotions, and I just told her, like, I've been through the same thing.
02:19Like, there's been days where I've been really upset, and you can have the thickest skin in
02:23the world, but sometimes it does get to you.
02:25And, you know, I think our world is just, like, we love to hate.
02:30We love to divide.
02:31Like, that's all we want to do.
02:32Like, nobody wants to see each other succeed, and I think that's a really painful thing for
02:37myself to watch.
02:39I feel like we need to do a better job at uplifting each other, and I can assure you there
02:44was
02:44no way we were losing this game tonight, and I told her that before the game.
02:48Like, there was no way we were losing this game for her, and, you know, it's tough.
02:51Like, that's my head coach.
02:53Like, I hated that our fans booed her before the game.
02:56That made me a little sick, to be honest.
02:59And you can disagree, and this and that, and I get it.
03:01It's professional sports people are going to boo, but, like, at the end of the day, that's
03:04our head coach, and we're going to ride for her, and we're always going to have our back,
03:07and it's never going to tear our locker room apart.
03:09So, I just love her, and I feel for her because I know it can be a lot at times.
03:17Yeah, and I know some people are going to say, well, why is Kayla Clark defending her?
03:21What's she supposed to say?
03:23You know, as an athlete, like, what are you supposed to say in that moment?
03:28Oh, yeah, F my own head coach.
03:30She's terrible.
03:31She didn't come out and defend me.
03:32Like, no, no player is going to come out and say that.
03:36None.
03:38None.
03:39Because at the end of the day, you're still just the player.
03:43She's still the coach.
03:45You're not the owner of the team, right?
03:47You don't run the show, okay?
03:50You are still an employee.
03:52So, like, duh, Kayla Clark's not going to come out and, like, bash her own head coach,
03:57even though, clearly, her head coach is wrong.
03:59Now, do I think deep down she knows her head coach is wrong?
04:02Yeah, absolutely.
04:04Deep down, do I think Sophie Cunningham, who was sitting next to her, nodding her head along,
04:08like, yes, I agree with Kayla Clark.
04:10Do I think Sophie Cunningham, you know, understands her coach is wrong and it's terrible?
04:15Yeah, but they're not going to say that.
04:17Every former athlete knows that.
04:20Nobody's going to say that.
04:22You might have one player, maybe one, you know, every blue moon, you know, and that is rare.
04:31And that player is often not somebody that's very good, okay?
04:35They're not going to be the best player and they won't be on the team for very long.
04:40Just saying, right?
04:41I'm just saying.
04:42So, yeah, I don't knock Kayla Clark or Sophie for coming out and, you know, saying that.
04:51But here is the statement from Stephanie White because she felt the heat.
04:56She most certainly felt the heat.
04:57Obviously, as you heard there at their last game when she was getting introduced, the fans
05:03booed her.
05:04They booed the head coach, you know.
05:05So, yeah, the fans booed the head coach of the team, which is not something that typically
05:09happens, a head coach getting booed by the fans.
05:13But that's what happens with the head coach, and she's been seeing the online, you know,
05:18back and forth about her, you know, not supporting her players.
05:22And this is what she had to say when she stepped up to the mic.
05:25Check it out.
05:27No, I'm going to start today.
05:29You know, this isn't necessarily for those people that are in this room.
05:34This is more for an online community that's trying to create narratives that simply don't
05:41exist, trying to create a fabrication or distortion of who I am, of what I'm about.
05:48Our players' success, our players' health and wellness, our players' safety is always
05:52a top priority for me.
05:54One of the things I pride myself on is my relationships with players.
05:57For those who have anything to say about the play in the last game, I didn't see the play
06:02in real time.
06:02I went straight to a press conference.
06:04I thought the play got called right.
06:06Thankfully, Sophie's okay.
06:08Was it egregious?
06:09Absolutely.
06:10When you have a chance to watch that over and over and over on replay, you can see that.
06:15I didn't have that in real time.
06:20I take personally any suggestions that I don't 100% always have my players back.
06:27I ride with them 10 toes down all the time.
06:30All the time.
06:31They know that.
06:33It's a shame that we can't have an opportunity to talk about what great basketball they're
06:38playing.
06:39Because they are f***ing playing.
06:44The reality is, with me, I will always lead with love.
06:50I will always lead with grace.
06:52I will always lead with humility.
06:55And I will always lead with integrity.
06:58Doesn't mean I'll always get it right.
07:00I'm also human.
07:03The hate, the fear-mongering, the divisiveness, the stuff that's trying to hijack our league
07:08will not win.
07:12It won't win.
07:15We are united.
07:17We are connected.
07:18We will not be divided.
07:22Every day these women put their a** on the line.
07:27Every day.
07:30When they go low, we go high.
07:31Love will win.
07:33Grace will win.
07:35Humility will win.
07:36And kindness will win.
07:39I stand by them.
07:40I will always stand by them.
07:42Everybody else can go to hell.
07:47Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
07:51See, here's the thing, Stephanie.
07:54I would have actually, you know, liked what you said there.
07:58Had that not been the first time you had done that.
08:00With the whole Sophie Cunningham situation.
08:03Because when Kaitlin Clark was punched in the throat by another player, you did the exact
08:10same thing.
08:10The exact same thing.
08:12So you haven't just done it once.
08:13You've done it more than once.
08:15One time, I can forgive you.
08:17Yeah, you didn't see the play in real time, even though you're on the sideline and everybody
08:22could see it.
08:22And there's probably a replay or replays playing on the jumble trying above, right?
08:31But I'll give you some grace.
08:33Except it's not the first time you defended players from another team and not players on
08:38your own team.
08:39So no, you don't get any grace.
08:41None.
08:42You should be fired.
08:45100%.
08:45100%.
08:45He will go high.
08:47Love, grace, humility will win.
08:51And then you tell everybody to go to hell.
08:55You think that's going to work for you, Coach White?
08:58Think that's going to work for you?
09:00The reality of the situation is none of that stuff will win if it's left up to you, Stephanie
09:05White.
09:07Because you're playing right into their hands.
09:14Right into their hands.
09:18Because you're not embracing the reality of the tense situation that the WNBA, and especially
09:27you as the coach of the Indiana Fever, is involved in.
09:30There are folks in Indiana at a home game booing you.
09:36You ain't the road team.
09:38You the home team.
09:39You the home coach.
09:40And they booing you.
09:44And Sophie Cunningham and Kaitlyn Clark can speak up for you all they want to, as they
09:49did, and as they should have.
09:52But that's not going to be enough.
09:54How are you the head coach on the sideline during the play covering the game, or coaching
09:57the game, and you didn't see the play?
09:59I'm just asking.
10:00I'm not saying it's impossible, but I'm like, what do you mean you didn't see the play?
10:04Well, you not watching?
10:05We saw it.
10:08You coaching the game, up and down the court.
10:11It's your job to coach the game, watch the game.
10:14How did you not see the play?
10:19Problem is, she did see the play.
10:21That was just an excuse.
10:25That was just an excuse.
10:28And by the way, if you guys watch my YouTube shorts, you would have seen this already.
10:33So definitely check out my YouTube shorts.
10:34As a matter of fact, here is the video clip that I uploaded as a YouTube short the other
10:39day.
10:40And what I said was, I'm happy somebody else sees this.
10:45Because I noticed it too.
10:47Before I had even made a video on it from the other day.
10:50I was like, man.
10:52I was thinking to myself like, geez, it feels like this coach hates Kaitlyn Clark and Sophie.
10:58She hates them.
11:01She's obviously not going to come out and say that.
11:04But actions speak louder than words.
11:07You know, we've all heard that saying.
11:09And I feel like it's true.
11:10You can tell me a bunch of stuff.
11:14Oh, you love me, blah, blah, blah.
11:16But if you don't show me, then that means absolutely nothing.
11:21You can tell me that you care about your players and all of this other stuff.
11:26But what you're showing me is something completely different.
11:32Here's the video clip.
11:35I'm not, I don't oppose the hard foul.
11:37Oh, but I also don't think that she intentionally went for the next.
11:40I listened to that whole post-game news conference by Stephanie White.
11:44There was no mention of Sophie Cunningham or any support for her own player.
11:49And remember last week when I told you about it on the show, when Sophie was elbowed in
11:53the face in another game and the officials gave Sophie Cunningham the foul and Stephanie White
11:59looked like a spectator because she didn't get up out of her seat to argue that call,
12:03even after a video review, let the call stand.
12:07That's Sophie's coach.
12:09She never supports Sophie Cunningham ever, ever.
12:12And then of course, you know, a lot of people, a lot of you guys who watch the show remind
12:15me,
12:16she did the same thing.
12:17Here she was praising the kind of player Dijoné Carrington is.
12:21She did the same thing with Alyssa Thomas and Caitlin Clark was on her back and Thomas
12:26had her arm to her throat.
12:28And there was, you know, there was support for Alyssa Thomas and not a lot of concern
12:32for Caitlin Clark in that situation.
12:34I, Stephanie White, this coach, listen, I know of her history.
12:39I know what a great player she used to be.
12:41You know what a great coach at times she is, but it's not working with the Indiana Fever.
12:46The reason why she's not fired already is because either the ownership or the team executives
12:51don't care or I'm not even watching the games, which I don't think that's the case,
12:55but Indiana Fever, they're doing well.
12:58They're championship contenders in the WNBA this year, but they are not because of Stephanie
13:04White.
13:05They are because of Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell.
13:08That combo, that tandem makes Indiana Fever games worth watching, always worth watching.
13:14So Stephanie White, count your blessings for at least two of the players you're coaching
13:19because they, I feel, my opinion, they have kept you in your coaching seat, at least for
13:25the end of this year.
13:29Shout out to Linda Cone.
13:32Shout out to her, man, because that's 100% spot on.
13:36And I forgot about the Sophie Cunningham situation where she got elbowed in the face and got a foul
13:42called on her.
13:43I'm just like, wait, what the, what's going on here?
13:47And that's why the other day, I don't remember which video it was, but the other, the other
13:53day I said, you know, these refs are absolutely garbage.
13:58They are garbage.
14:00These are terrible refs.
14:01I could go out there and be a better, and be a better ref than them.
14:05Drunk.
14:09I could be out there stumbling, stumbling, bumbling all down the court and be a better
14:14ref than them.
14:16Like, not even kidding.
14:17Not even kidding.
14:19These refs are garbage.
14:22Garbage.
14:23Or, or, they all hate them too.
14:27Which also could be the point here as well.
14:32The refs are in on it.
14:35They hate Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin Clark as well.
14:40And so, you get this nonsense.
14:42And any basketball player, for any of my basketball, matter of fact, let me see if I can find that
14:46clip really quickly.
14:50For any of my basketball players, you know, when you see this, when you see this Sophie
14:58Cunningham clip of her getting elbowed to the face and a foul called on her.
15:05Or, like, it's just crazy.
15:12Yeah, here it is.
15:14All right.
15:17Anything in the neck and face?
15:18Look at it.
15:19She got whacked good.
15:22That's all I'm going to play because they like the claim videos.
15:25As y'all saw there, Sophie Cunningham was clearly elbowed in the face.
15:31Hmm.
15:32Foul called on her.
15:33Explain to me how that's a foul.
15:39Explain to me how that's a foul.
15:41You know?
15:42Like, it's just crazy.
15:44If anything, it's a no call.
15:47If anything, it's a no call.
15:49But a foul on the defense?
15:52Because they got elbowed in the face?
15:57Play on, if anything.
16:00But to call a foul on that is crazy.
16:03Crazy.
16:05And so, you know, a lot of people are calling for, you know, Stephanie White's job.
16:12I mean, there's clips all across the internet calling for people to, or calling for Stephanie White.
16:19I want to say Sophie because I was talking about Sophie.
16:22Stephanie White's job.
16:23And I agree.
16:24I agree.
16:25She's terrible.
16:26That team is winning in spite of her.
16:29Not because of her.
16:31As far as everything that I've observed.
16:34Because as a player.
16:40And a lot of you can attest to this.
16:41Any sports, any sports folks.
16:44When you start to lose respect for a coach that does stuff like that, it never really comes back.
16:51You know?
16:52When you realize your coach actually doesn't have your back, the respect for that coach never comes back.
16:59You know?
17:03And I think that's where at least a few of the girls are right now.
17:09Those ladies are now.
17:10They don't respect that coach.
17:12And I wouldn't either.
17:14I wouldn't either.
17:17You're supposed to be my head coach and you don't even defend me?
17:20Every chance you get, you defend people from the other team and not me?
17:25Not one of my teammates?
17:27So if you can't defend one of my own teammates and you're supposed to be the head coach,
17:32when something happens to me, what are you going to do to me?
17:35You're going to defend the other person that did something to me too?
17:39No, I can't trust you.
17:44So yeah.
17:45Y'all get in the comments.
17:46Let me know your thoughts and your opinions.
17:48Stay safe out there.
17:49Peace and love.
17:50I'm out.
