00:04It's like just like literally stepping into a family that just welcome you with open arms and

00:24How familiar with the show were you before being cast on it?
00:29Not very. I'd heard of it and I hadn't seen it and I watched it when I after I was
00:36offered the job
00:38and I binged like all three seasons and I loved it. I totally got the hype and I don't know
00:43why I
00:43missed it the first time around but yeah I watched it in really quick succession
00:49and I really loved it and I loved what it was doing and I was like yeah.
00:55Can you talk a little bit about crafting a character of another coach especially opposite
01:01Ted Lasso? I mean your character is quite different than him in terms of demeanor so
01:05how do you go about playing off of him and creating your own character?
01:11Well I think I just like I mean it's kind of a lot of it's on the page like she
01:16is the kind of
01:19antithesis to of Ted and a lot of the work is kind of done for you there but I think
01:26I just was
01:27trying to yeah figure out like why why is she why is she this way why is she why is
01:33she so cold
01:34why is she so um you know standoffish and prickly and what is that about and just trying to
01:41understand her and then it was you know it was really fun to have like this the to be the
01:47foil
01:47to like the ridiculous chaos of Ted and Beard um yeah yeah. I read that you were not so much
01:56of a
01:56football expert before joining the show how has the learning curve been is that has that changed?
02:03I mean I would still say I'm not an expert I would still say that with some confidence I
02:11yeah I mean I know more now than I did before I'd started this job but I still would say

02:19know very little I wouldn't trust myself to actually coach a team put it that way. Did you did you

02:25more into it like did you watch the world cup this summer? I did not but I I was in
02:30a play when it was
02:31on so I feel like I missed it I know sometimes I'd be on stage and I'd hear we'd hear

02:35cheering like on the street outside and I'd be like oh yeah world cup's happening um but yeah I
02:40did kind of miss it. How about uh did you see Ted Lasso introducing Justin Bieber at the world cup
02:46halftime show? I heard I heard of it I heard about it I heard about it iconic. We got to

02:51there introducing which pop star would you like to introduce? Oh I don't know Kate Bush I can do a

02:58Kate Bush impression so I can. Can we hear it? Absolutely not no. Um okay so Ted Lasso is
03:06obviously full of a lot of advice and mottos is there a piece of advice from the show or any

03:11of line of dialogue that you've taken into your personal life? Um I don't know really I think I'd
03:19like to probably be a goldfish like as in be more goldfish or yeah I think that's a useful one
03:26that I should take into my life more so yeah maybe that one.
