00:14You guys have given me so many great opportunities over the years.
00:17I appreciate every single one of them, and to have the chance to work with such an amazing team has
00:23been just incredible.
00:26I also want to thank my friend Michael J. Fox.
00:29Mike, your friendship is one of the best gifts of my life.
00:34I never could have imagined when Michael J. Fox was starring in Family Ties and I moved to Washington for
00:40the first time,
00:40thinking, boy, that guy's pretty cool, that we would one day be friends.
00:44But it's been a blessing of my adult life, and he's even funnier in person, and he really is a
00:51better golfer than me.
00:54To my partners, Robin and Michael, I honestly can't believe that we share a desk together every single day.
01:03I can't imagine that I sit at a desk with a Women's Basketball Hall of Fame member, an NFL Hall
01:10of Famer,
01:12and they tolerate a very high-challenged teammate.
01:18This is one of those never-could-have-imagined moments.
01:22But really, being at Good Morning America, I feel like that just about every day.
01:27I never could have imagined that I would interview Kermit the Frog.
01:32I never could have imagined that I would agree to dress up on Halloween as Lady Gaga.
01:39I never could have imagined that I would race an Olympic gold medalist to the top of the Empire State
01:47Building.
01:49And did pretty well, actually. Not bad.
01:52But even more than that, the chance to cover the biggest, most consequential stories of our time,
01:58to interview the most interesting and inspiring people of our time,
02:04to be able to say good morning to the entire country every morning,
02:08not knowing what they're going through, but trying to help guide them through it with the information,
02:13the advice that they need to get their day started, and maybe put a smile on their face as well.
02:19So, that is a great gift.
02:23But really, the gift I'm most grateful for is the family that joined me here today,
02:29Allie and Harper and Elliot,
02:33who have been the joy of my life for the last 25 years.
02:36Again, something I never could have imagined that I would be lucky enough to have.
02:40Thank you for that.
02:42Thank you for being my greatest cheerleader and my most pointed critics.
02:46But they do it with gentleness and love.
