USC Trojans Cornerback Alex Graham discusses leadership stepping up. Graham talks about how they guys he expected to be leaders have stepped up and how they are headed in the right direction.
Transcript
00:01USC has a really good history with defensive backs wearing the number seven.
00:04Was that at all a factor in your desire to avoid the number?
00:07I played kind of a part in it.
00:09You know, we got a lot of numbers retired, and I did want to get out of number 27.
00:13But just to keep the legacy of one of the best DBs on the field wearing number seven at USC,
00:18keep that going.
00:19So that was one of the things.
00:21You mentioned wanting to step up as a leader.
00:23Have you seen any other players step up that you maybe weren't expecting?
00:28Really, the people that I thought was going to step up stepped up this year and this spring.
00:32So we're heading in the right direction for sure.
00:36Can you tell us a little bit about, like, okay, so are the competition period and the Trojan period,
00:41is that the same thing?
00:42Yeah.
00:43Okay, so can you tell us a little bit what that's like from a competitive standpoint?
00:47Just super intense.
00:49You know, everybody just want to go out there and play ball and have fun.
00:52So everybody working hard, running to the ball, competing.
00:56That's what I love out here.
00:57We compete, so that's good.
