USC Trojans Quarterback Jayden Maiava discusses throwing on the move. Maiava talks about how they do not emphasize throwing on the move but he talks about how Offensive Coordinator Luke Huard puts them in drills to help them with off script plays.

00:00How much of an emphasis has there been with throwing on the move with you guys in camp?
00:04We've kind of seen Coach Hewlett when you guys do some of those drills.
00:06Is that one of the major things you're working on this game?
00:09Not necessarily.
00:11Playing a quarterback position, you've got to throw in awkward positions.
00:16You've got to throw in, you can't really plan for a specific base.
00:20So, I mean, Coach Hewlett just does such a great job putting us in drills
00:23and getting us in off-platform throws, just kind of like the off-script plays
00:28that people call it, you know, just being able to get ready for those
00:32because, you know, sometimes things might not go our way.
00:34So being able to, you know, improvise and be able to get better at that.
00:40What are your early impressions of Jonas?
00:43Super bright future for him. Can't wait.
00:46Have you noticed a different vibe this spring as opposed to last spring,
00:49starting a little bit earlier, having more young guys out there with you?
00:53Yeah, we've got a great group of guys out there, you know,
00:56a great group of return from last year.
00:58We've got a couple transfers and older guys,
01:01especially for this freshman, talented group, you know,
01:04which is a good combination of guys just, you know, wanting to work and get better.
