Transcript
00:00What was the thinking with having Coach Patterson up in the box today, and how did you think that worked
00:04out?
00:05Yeah, we talked about it a little bit early in the week, and I think it's been a good learning
00:09experience for us.
00:10I mean, going through some of these first few games, seeing the makeup of the staff.
00:14It was a conversation that he and I had on Sunday, and we thought there were some reasons just kind
00:20of in our operation that made sense.
00:22You know, he knows his defense obviously better than anyone.
00:26He was used to having, I think, a staff that, you know, at TCU, if you kind of look at
00:30his staff there for years and years,
00:32we have had like little to no turnover, right?
00:35And so, you know, when you had guys that, you know, he'd been coaching with you for 15, 20 years,
00:40like he had in a lot of ways,
00:42you might handle that different.
00:43We got a heck of a defensive staff, and I think it's kind of like players, right?
00:47You're trying to just like move the chess pieces to put everybody in the right position to get the best
00:51out of them.
00:52And I thought our coaches on the field did a great job.
00:54I thought Gary called it a really good game.
00:57And the players responded.
00:58And, Shaquem, how did the players kind of gather your guys themselves?
01:02You go down 21-10, you know, you hear the crowd getting antsy, but then you guys kind of, you
01:07know,
01:08go on a run that you did to finish the game.
01:10As a defense, I feel as though we just stick together.
01:12You know, the main thing for us was to play connected.
01:15And I feel as though we did as a D-line because we got to always tell the defense, like,
01:19man, it's on us.
01:20Like, we're the tip of the spirit.
01:21So, I was just standing together.
01:22Like, we're not really worrying about the school.
01:23We're just worrying about us playing for our team.
01:25I feel as though that's what we did.
01:26And we came out with the tours, man.
01:28Like Coach Ronald said, there's a lot to fix, but this all got one of the best styles in the
01:31country
01:31because, like, we go fixing it, man.
01:33No team come out, you know, perfect.
01:35And I feel as though, like, it takes time, man.
01:37You know, time is something.
01:38We're working on a manager.
01:40We go for sure to fix that stuff right now.
