00:01I've just had so much fun playing this. I've just become, at my point in my career, finally
00:06confident enough to just be fearless and just grab a roll and just, you know. And this
00:11was the perfect opportunity, a perfect environment to just play. They let me just, you know,
00:16I came to set every day with certain ideas and they were like, do that, do that, do that.
00:20And then working with Kristin is, you know, is one of the best experiences I've had on
00:24the set. She's just so smart and so playful and so inviting, you know, to, to, to play,
00:32you know, and I could, you could just feel it when you work with comic actors like that.
00:35They want to, they want to, you know, throw, throw a hard ball, she'd catch it, throw it
00:39back. And it was just that sort of environment that, that made it really fun for me. And
00:44again, like a different character than I've ever played. From the script, I kind of had
00:48an idea how to play him, but I didn't, I didn't really, because it was written sort of, you
00:52know, straight and, you know, um, and then I went in for the first wardrobe fitting and
00:57they had these really beautiful suits. And I said, how about that one? How about that
01:00shiny one? And I put it on. Then there was a rack of cowboy hats. I said, who are those?
01:05I thought it was for another character, you know? And they said, well, maybe do you want
01:09to try it? And I said, yes. I put the hat on and they had these Elvis glasses, like all
01:13these row of glasses. And I said, let me try that. And all of a sudden it just, it clicked.
01:17I mean, it just clicked for me. Like I had, you know, and then I, then I got it all
01:20the
01:21way through. I knew how exactly how to play this character. And, and, you know, he just
01:24also had that swagger and the thing. And the accent was, um, was supposed to be sort of
01:30South beach. Cause they all sound a little bit Southern, you know? And then Abe was like,
01:34push that, push that a little more. And we did that. And, and, um, it just came alive
01:39that way. I think, you know, you come to work and yeah, I'm in a scene with, with Kristen
01:43and Alison and Ricky Martin. And then, you know, we're pushing this big, you know, thing
01:49of gold into the set that's supposed to be Mar-a-Lago. And there at the end of the hallway
01:55is Patti LuPone playing Meriwether Post. You know, it, it, it was, you know, it was just
02:01a magical moment. Every time I stepped on that set, it was magic. Just like his character's
02:06name. I'm just so grateful that I get these calls to come on these shows and work with such
02:11great people. And you never know how it's going to turn out. That's why I always usually
02:14say, yes, it's, you know, it's like, great. I don't even care about the money. I don't
02:17care. Like it's usually it's about who I get to work with. And then, then it becomes
02:22the character and that kind of stuff. But I liked that character. And, you know, I've
02:26come to, it's been 30 years now, whatever. Uh, I've come to really, um, be proud of full
02:33house and uncle Jesse and my, uh, my son who's seven watches the show now. And it's just,
02:38there's no central character. The central character was love.
02:41And it's just, it's held up. Uh, I was spent so many years trying to get away from that
02:46and that character. And then when I finally just embraced it, you know, everything else
02:50came around. It's, there's no, you know, I get to do everything, every sort of acting
02:54and music and theater and, you know, so, uh, and I'm glad that it made so many people happy.
03:01And I think it puts a good message out there about, uh, kindness. And so that that's, I've
03:07come around to like that one too.
