00:12Ibrahim receives a command that he has to take his wife Hajar
00:17and his only newborn son Ismail into the middle of a desert
00:22which we now know is Makkah
00:26At those days there was nothing there
00:27there's no water no people nothing you know the story
00:31to leave them in the middle of the desert and to return
00:34without them just like that
00:38no sources no people no food leave them there and come back
00:43and so he went on that journey
00:46note Hajar knew nothing about it
00:50all she knew was that they were going on a journey and they're going to come back home
00:54but also note my dear sisters how she was obedient and loyal to her husband
00:59trust between the husband and the wife
01:01he's a prophet of God and she is obeying him putting her trust and loyalty in Allah then her husband
01:09so they went and when they reached the middle of the desert they sat down and Ibrahim
01:14stood up and he started to walk back to Palestine
01:20and he did not ask his wife to follow
01:30who are you leaving us to
01:33there's no one with us
01:34what are you doing
01:36and Ibrahim would not reply to her
01:38why
01:40because if he replies he will get into a conversation
01:43and he is afraid that his heart may lose itself
01:46he has to fulfill the command of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala Allah has a plan
01:51he just kept walking straight without looking at her
01:53and she kept on following him
01:55Ya Ibrahim ila man tatrukana
01:57who are you leaving us to
01:59and he would not reply he just kept walking
02:02finally
02:04Hajar stopped for a minute and thought
02:06with her piety
02:07with her righteousness
02:09with her knowledge of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
02:11she asked one simple question
02:13Ya Ibrahim
02:16Allahu
02:17Amaraka bihada
02:19is it Allah who commanded you to do this?
02:23and Ibrahim alayhi salam still without looking at her
02:25he replied in only one answer
02:28he said
02:30yes
02:31and he kept walking
02:32at this point Hajar alayhi salam stopped
02:34and she watched her husband walk away
02:37she calmed down
02:38and she said the following words
02:41idhan
02:42lain yudayya'ana Allah
02:45therefore
02:47Allah will not let us go
02:50Allah will not lose us
02:52Allahu Akbar
02:55I want you to put yourself in that position
02:57to us it's an imagination
02:59it's just a story
03:00but imagine you were really there
03:02and it is you
03:05the woman
03:06who her husband is commanded to leave her right there
03:08in the middle of nowhere
03:11in the middle of nowhere
03:13there are obviously many men who can't even do what Hajar alayhi salam did
03:17which man can do that
03:19we are talking about women
03:20which man can do that
03:22she had the power of a hundred men at that time
03:24at heart
03:24she said

03:26lain yudayya'ana Allah
03:27Allah will not lose us
03:28such reliance upon Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
03:32why would she not be one of those of paradise
03:34it's a perfect example of her
03:36lain yudayya'ana Allah
03:37Allah will not lose us
03:38and you know the story
03:41she began to run between safa and marwah
03:43when the food ran out
03:44and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gave them water
03:46called ma'zamzam
03:48and a whole village came and lived around them
03:51and Ismail alayhi salam grew
03:52and Hajar alayhi salam lived among these people
03:55and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala willed for them
03:57not only to be looked after
03:59but to also grow a whole city
04:01a whole city
04:02a new tribe
04:03which never existed before
04:05and it lasted out of her honour
04:07Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala honoured her in the Quran
04:09and honoured her till today
04:10millions of Muslims around the world go
04:14men and women
04:16to carry out the ritual of a woman
04:19one woman
04:21what do we do?
04:23we actually hurry between safa and marwah
04:25what is it?
04:26it's walking and hurrying between safa and marwah
04:29why?
04:30just because of one woman
04:34many eyes
04:36the first one
