00:02A high octane demonstration of trilateral cooperation, two F-35 jets being rearmed and refuelled by Air Force personnel from
00:12Australia, the US and Japan.
00:15So it's not simple, but the fact that we can actually combine all three nations while we do that is
00:20probably one of its first types here in Australia.
00:22The demonstration is part of Exercise Southern Cross, the territory playing host to a thousand Air Force personnel and 40
00:30aircraft from all three nations.
00:33What this is all about is continuing to generate and deliver highly effective air power together as close allies and
00:39partners.
00:40The ten day exercise is the third to take place between the three countries following similar opportunities in Guam and
00:47Japan last year.
00:48All three aimed at increasing interoperability and ultimately interchangeability between the forces.
00:55As we watched the state of origin last night together in Darwin, the analogy would be getting to the point
01:01where Australians, Americans and Japanese airmen and aviators can literally fill the forward pack together, the back line together and
01:10operate as an incredible team.
01:12And it's about readiness and it's about using that readiness for deterrence to ensure that the Pacific region maintains the
01:20peace, stability and the prosperity for all.
01:24Amid increasing international instability, Southern Cross also hope to send a message to foreign powers.
01:30This picture alone sends a powerful message about the strength of our unity.
01:37Each day decision makers around the world and around this region wake up and think not today.
01:42The exercise runs until next week ahead of exercise pitch black.
01:47The exercise line willщееens compact air습니다.
