00:47We've had little or no consultation with the development and so we just want to bring the
00:53awareness to people of you know what these places are, the amount of energy consumption,
01:00the diesel storage, the construction noise.
01:04This is just one of 30 data centres across Victoria with another 30 already in the pipeline.
01:10The government says it doesn't want the community living in fear of these kinds of facilities
01:15but says they are crucial to the development of the state.
01:18This isn't some bogeyman out there, this is about driving economic growth, making sure
01:24the Victorians have access through technology to the data centres and the support that we need.
01:30Data centres do underpin our digital economy and really our modern lives.
