00:17foreign investors, and in a separate vote, it also removed amendments to the fire management law, a bill promoted by
00:23Maximo Crisner in 2021 that protects ecosystems in the wake of fires.
00:28Senators from Córdoba, Santa Cruz, Misiones, Tucumán, and Chubut stopped the advance proposed by the far-right in alliance with
00:36two radical party senators.
00:38It is important to highlight that while the debate was taking place, social and political organizations mobilized amidst the brutality
00:44of state forces, which resulted in at least nine people arrested and 1,500 wounded, one of them with serious
00:52injuries.
01:01First of all, we must defend sovereignty, because beyond the concept of a nation, what exists are indigenous peoples who
01:10have inhabited these lands long before nations even existed.
01:16And now, this foreigner regulation law would also allow people who don't even care if this land is livable, if
01:24it has water, or if it has what it needs in terms of biodiversity to keep us living here, they

01:38We are here today in Plaza del Congreso saying no to the law on forced evictions and looting, which is
01:47a very complicated law for our country, our people, and our rural communities,
01:51because it accelerates the eviction process and burns the land with the amendment to the fire management law,
01:57and because the section on public utility also strips the state of its ability to build schools, roads, and hospitals.
02:03That is why this law must be repealed in its entirety, and we will continue fighting and saying no to
02:10this government, which has been exposed before the Argentine people.
02:15The debate that took place in the Argentine Senate, which resulted in the approval of the bill on inviolability of

02:22has also been rejected by Argentines in the Spanish city of Barcelona.
