00:00Senator Mitch McConnell is finally returning home as he continues his recovery following a
00:05health scare that sidelined him for nearly two months and counting. The Kentucky Republican
00:09announced that he left the rehabilitation facility where he's been convalescing and
00:12is returning to his home in Washington. The senior senator has been taken it easy since
00:16being found unconscious in June and brought to the hospital by ambulance. McConnell thanked
00:21his doctors, therapists, hospital staff, and many of the people who have offered their support during
00:26his recovery. The former Senate majority leader said in a statement, quote, I'll maintain an
00:30intensive regimen of physical therapy from home during the state work period, and I'll continue
00:34to engage with my staff and colleagues on important Senate business. The 84-year-old is serving the final
00:39months of his more than four-decade career in the U.S. Senate after announcing he would not seek re
00:44-election.
