01:14I would, well, it's hard. I never want to, like, predetermine the song, because I think, I believe a session
01:21you have, whatever, six hours to just let the universe give you something.
01:28And, I don't know, I would love to hear her voice on, like, a, I don't know, D'Angelo-sounding
01:33track, something that's funky, something that's R&B. I think that would be really cool.

01:48I think it was, Sade, I've heard a little bit. I think it was, it was Robin Thicke. It was
01:53a little bit of JT, which is just, it's bananas to me. Those are, like, incredible singers and legends. I'm

02:05When you look at that work to come, what, what does the next step look like? Now that you kind
02:10of have the world's attention, how do you kind of focus and navigate where you want to go next with
02:15your music?
02:16Yeah, I mean, it's crazy, because the Sleep Talking was truly the first song that I made that sounds like
02:24who I am, and so it's pretty, it's a pretty recent breakthrough for me and, you know, my partner that
02:30we've been writing with forever, like, my working partner.
02:33Or not, my relationship partner. So just continuing to make music that I love and continue to follow my gut,
02:42that's what's gotten me here, and just writing songs, man. It's going to be so fun to give the world
02:49way more music.
02:50I mean, we're going to just, now we're just waiting for the album to drop, but before...
02:54Yeah, a project coming in the fall, EP.
02:55Okay, what can you tell us about the EP?
02:59Well, what do you want to know?
03:00I mean, I want to know everything. I want to know who's on it. I know that your dad's probably
03:04not a feature, but I mean, you always could add him for the debut.
03:08Yeah, maybe we add him for some ad-libs or something, I don't know.
03:12Well, he's pretty memorably one incredibly huge song, without really even showing up to the studio.

03:31And you're like, okay, guys, I know, I know. I walk into the room, and you play my dad's song.
03:35Yeah, it was funny.
03:38No, it's just a project of funky music.
03:41We're trying to put musicianship into the songs while still writing catchy music.
03:48I'm just excited. I'm just so excited to continue this process.
03:52I feel like I'm in the job now, and now we get to just keep building momentum.
03:58Well, obviously, he's very proud, and I'm sure your dad has given you some good advice.
04:02What was the key thing that he told you, since you're navigating a slightly different world than he is in
04:07acting and producing?
04:08I mean, he's told me a few things. There's a lot of different things that stuck out to me.
04:14I just think, like, encouraging me to be me and encouraging me to be free, and I don't know.
04:21We both have had long discussions of how people aren't going to like the music.
04:25Sorry, not everybody, but some people won't like the music, and that's kind of the point.
04:31Just the ability to be completely and utterly yourself for the people who appreciate that and connect with that.
04:39And I'd say that's the biggest thing. That's the most important thing for me.
04:42That is the most important thing to keep in mind.
