00:00Don't forget Tiger baseball coming up at 345.
00:05340, excuse me, where we have the Tigers taking on the Seattle Mariners.
00:11Win this game, baby.
00:12Win another series, and then they play three in San Francisco
00:16against the Giants.
00:19Job will be pitching on Saturday on national television.
00:23It's official now?
00:24Yeah.
00:25Okay.
00:26248-539-9797.
00:28All right.
00:28Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for a blitz.
00:36Oh, NFL style.
00:39All right, gentlemen, we got another NFL blitz back-to-back days.
00:43This one comes from CBS Sports.
00:45Hold on, before we get to that, when is your guy just going to go ahead
00:49and say, I'm going to ram?
00:50We got to do this all year long.
00:53I like Aaron Donald.
00:54It's a nice tease for me as a fan.
00:55Let's put the damn uniform on.
00:58Either come back or go away.
00:59I like it.
01:00Like I said, it's a nice tease.
01:02You know, keep me waiting.
01:03Keep me wanting more as a fan.
01:04All right.
01:05So CBS Sports writer Jared Dubbin, I believe that's correct.
01:08He came out with an article, red flags for certain contending teams.
01:12So I have listed them off, and I'm going to tell you guys what they are.
01:15Agree, disagree.
01:16We'll have a nice little discourse about it.
01:18But with that being said, let's start with the team that Rico just mentioned, who are
01:21the odds-on favorites as of right now, my Los Angeles Rams.
01:25He said age and injuries are the biggest red flags for them.
01:28What do you guys believe?
01:29That's about it, because they are loaded, obviously, offensively.
01:34You have the defending, you know, most valuable player quarterback, but he's up there in age.
01:41They obviously have two really good running backs in Williams and Corum.
01:45They have one of the best receivers.
01:48They're loaded defensively.
01:50You add Miles Garrett to an already good defense, and I mean, come on.
01:54I mean, yes, injuries is the only red flag.
01:57I got two red flags.
01:58One is the age and injuries, because especially your receivers, you got Devontae Adams and Puka
02:03Nakua, who trips out of bed, it seems like.
02:06That's a great point.
02:08And then you got to keep him from doing stupid things as well off the field or his brother.
02:13The other thing, Corbin, is the expectation, because a lot of times in the NFL, when it's
02:20that super team, this team built for a Super Bowl, that's the team that doesn't win the
02:25Super Bowl.
02:26So the expectations of tempering that down and then the age factor.
02:31Yes, I would agree with that.
02:32I don't like the expectations as a fan, but it'll be a fun season.
02:34I mean, because according to them, they're going to go 17 and 0 and just run.
02:38And they're going to be going up like the Miami Dolphins did back in the day, the only
02:43undefeated team.
02:44Yeah, I would disagree with that personally.
02:46But let's move over to the East Coast right now for a team that just can't get over the
02:50hump just yet.
02:51Buffalo Bills.
02:53He, Jared, listed off their main red flag as defensive front lack of pass rush depth.
02:59I think it's, I mean, yeah, they got DJ Moore.
03:02I just think it's a lack of, you know, playmakers besides the quarterbacks.
03:08I mean, they're wide receivers.
03:10You know, James Cook is really good.
03:12Their passing game, you know, Allen's terrific.
03:15Their receivers are not that great.
03:16No, their D-line is lacking.
03:20It is.
03:21Up front, I mean, the interior is pretty good.
03:24They're right.
03:24The pass rush is not great.
03:26But I'm with you.
03:27I'm going to say it's actually their lack of playmakers.
03:29I mean, they really didn't invest in Josh Allen and surround him with just people.
03:37I mean, imagine if you would in a world that you took all of the toys that the Lions have
03:44given Jared Goff and you gave them to Josh Allen, that's a scary team.
03:49Yes.
03:50But it's almost like, well, Josh, you don't really need any help, but I don't see where
03:54they invested in their team.
03:56They got a new stadium, but they didn't really invest in the team.
03:59I would agree with that.
04:00Let's move on now back to the West Coast.
04:03The reigning Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks.
04:06Jared listed their main red flags as a new OC and running backs.
04:10They just hired 49ers Brian Fleury as the new offensive coordinator.
04:14And until Zach Charbonnet, I was blanking on his name for a moment, before he comes back
04:19from ACL injury with the loss of K-9 as well, they have Jadarian Price, Emmanuel Wilson, and
04:24George Helani as running backs.
04:27Jadarian Price is, oh, I'm sorry, Stoney.
04:29Yeah.
04:29I watched the hard knocks.
04:31I watched it this morning.
04:32I saw some of it.
04:34Man, that man is fast as hell.
04:36He's going to be probably somewhere between four and six drafted in fantasy drafts.
04:44If you want to be the smart guy.
04:46Yeah.
04:46Because it's just going to be him.
04:47He's not going to be splitting carries.
04:49Corbin, I'm going to say no to that.
04:52That's problematic.
04:53I think for the Seattle Seahawks, it's the hangover.
04:57Yes.
04:57Did you see those rings?
04:59Yeah.
05:00Oh, my God.
05:01And the presentation?
05:02I've never seen anything like that in my life.
05:04Yeah.
05:04I don't think that the drive and the passion is there this season.
05:09Look, they want to win?
05:10Yes.
05:11But for them, you know what?
05:14Hey, remember last year when we won that Super Bowl?
05:18It's going to be the hangover factor for them.
05:20I've gone on record and said this may be where neither team in the Super Bowl makes the
05:25playoffs from last year.
05:26Because normally the loser doesn't make it.
05:28I don't think Seattle makes it either.
05:31I guess we'll have to find out in that realm.
05:33They're in a really good division, too.
05:34That's the other thing with the Rams.
05:36Let's go back to the East Coast, a team that is in Stoney's heart, the Philadelphia Eagles.
05:42Jared has their red flags as O-line injuries and pass offense.
05:47Devonta Smith's first season as wide receiver one.
05:49Obviously, they drafted Makai Lemon and they traded for Dontavian Wicks.
05:53And in general, one thing that I added in the notes I find interesting, Sean Mannion as the new O
05:58.C.
05:58Because we all know how the offensive struggles were last year for the Eagles.
06:02Yeah, well, they had a horrible offense last year.
06:05Offensive coordinator was not very popular.
06:09Jalen Hurts has to rebound and, you know, he did win the Super Bowl and was great in the one
06:14that they lost.
06:15I think he does get too much heat.
06:16But he's on the hot seat there.
06:17I was there last week and people are just, this is it for them.
06:21They've had their, you know, it's either make it or break it.
06:24But you're correct.
06:26The wide receiver with losing A.J. Brown and, you know, Smith is terrific.
06:33There's no doubt about it.
06:34But really, they don't have very many other, you know, aerial weapons.
06:37But, I mean, God, it's good.
06:39And the offensive line, Lane Johnson, when he got hurt, that team fell apart.
06:45I, you're right.
06:46But I laugh, Stoney, could you imagine if Jared Goff won the Super Bowl here and lost one but played
06:54great in that Super Bowl?
06:56There's no way we are talking hot seat.
06:59Oh, I know.
07:00There would be a statue built for this man.
07:03Yes.
07:03He would be mayor for a day, governor for a month, like whatever this man wanted.
07:08He's getting his name chanted now.
07:10But for the Eagles, it's more of a can you get the offense back where it used to be?
07:16And I do think that they will because I think it's going to be addition by subtraction.
07:19I think the fact that A.J. Brown is not there, I think he brought the team down.
07:24And I think Hurts just kind of checked out and was like, look, one of us can't be here next
07:28year.
07:29A.J.'s gone.
07:29I think you'll see the old Hurts back.
07:32I hope so.
07:33And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the NFL Blitz on 97.1.
