TERRIFYING MOMENT CHARGING HIPPO CHASES SAFARI BOAT

Watch as a family is forced to speed away through a narrow water channel after a territorial hippopotamus suddenly charges after their boat.
The dramatic footage, filmed in Botswana by Oznur Bell shows a lone male hippo emerging behind the boat after the group's guide notices the animal becoming increasingly alert. Moments earlier, the tourists had been quietly travelling between safari camps when their guide slowed the boat to avoid disturbing the hippo.
After watching the animal's behaviour, the guide quickly decided to accelerate, fearing it was about to give chase. Seconds later, the hippo surges through the shallow water in pursuit of the boat, leaving the passengers including three children terrified as they race to safety.
