00:03Hi guys! Today I'm reviewing the Swiffer Sweeper Mop. It sweeps and mops your floors. It's supposed
00:09to be a replacement for a broom. You can use the Swiffer on finished hardwood floors, laminate,
00:15and tile, but not on carpet. The Swiffer Mop is about 4 feet 2 inches tall. The base is 10
00:22inches
00:23across and about 4 inches wide. It's extremely lightweight and a little bit over a pound,
00:28but it is very sturdy for something so light. The starter kit comes with the Swiffer, a few
00:35unscented disposable dry cloths, and a few unscented disposable wet cloths. If your kit comes with
00:42the mop in parts, just connect the aluminum rod together. You might not even have to connect
00:49the poles. Some kits come with the Swiffer already assembled. It does come apart for storage,
00:55although most of us will put it in a corner without taking it apart since it's used often.
01:00Putting a cloth on is really simple. Simply put the cloth over the base
01:07and tuck it in into the four slots.
01:14Just push it right in. Just make sure the cloth covers the base. You'll have a teeny bit extra on
01:25both sides. Now you're all ready to clean your floor. It was that simple. These are old parquet floors.
01:32These are pretty dirty. I haven't Swiffered them in a while.
01:54You can see how much dirt is on the cloth. There's some hair, some more hair over here, little particles,
02:02and lots of dirt. What's good about these cloths is that they trap everything. They don't move it around
02:07on your floor. So you don't have to go over it again and again to get everything. One pass is
02:12all
02:12you need. The pivoting head makes it easier to get around furniture. So I cleaned the rest of this really
02:18filthy room and you can see how much dirt and dust and hair is on the Swiffer cloth. This room
02:25is rarely
02:26used and the windows were left open for a long time. So the floors got really dusty and dirty.
02:32It's all really caked on. It doesn't really come off the cloth. At this point it's time to throw out
02:38this cloth. They're disposable. One of my favorite things about the Swiffer is that it can get under
02:43the bed. If you want to get all the way under the bed you will have to bend a little
02:47but I can get it all
02:49the way. You can hear that's the wall. So I can easily, you know, I think that's a bug. It
02:59was summer.
03:00Oh, it's dead though. That's good. Okay. So all the bugs come in through the little cracks in the window.
03:08But look, see I can get all the way to the end, which I love.
03:14And these floors are not that dirty but you can see that the hair is over here. There's some more
03:22hair over there and there's little bits of dust. And I have a under the bed container here and the
03:28Swiffer can easily go around that. And it's narrow enough to get into all the little corners.
03:37And there's a lot more hair. That's one of the best things I love about the Swiffer too, that it
03:43picks
03:43up hair. I find the Swiffer most helpful when getting under the bed or an armoire. Otherwise I would have
03:50to get on my hands and knees and I really don't want to do that. Now you can see how
03:54much hair and dust
03:56is on the Swiffer. You know, everything tends to collect against the walls and in the corners. So the
04:03Swiffer really gets to those places. I'm going to use a wet cloth to clean my bathroom tile floor.
04:09The wet cloth comes with a thin scrubby strip. The wet cloths are almost dripping wet, so I put them
04:15on
04:15right at the spot I need to mop. Remember that the Swiffer is not for floors that require deep cleaning.
04:27Again, there is some hair and particles on the cloth. Sometimes it helps to use the dry cloth
04:33to get all of the hair, if it's lots of hair, and if the floor is really dirty, and then
04:40go over it
04:41with a wet cloth. I do that sometimes when my floors are really dirty. I do like that the Swiffer
04:47can get
04:47between the toilet and the wall because that's not an area that's easy to get to on my hands and
04:54knees.
04:55I can also get around my garbage can. Usually around your garbage can there will be more
05:00dirt and hair because people usually miss the can and stuff ends up all over it. There's more.
05:08So the wet cloths do a pretty good job. They're not perfect. Like I said, they're not going to pick
05:13up
05:13the bigger stuff, but they do actually do a good job of cleaning the dirt and grime of your floors.
05:20The floors also dry pretty quickly. The Swiffer is my favorite tool to clean
05:24steps because it's so light and it's so easy.
05:41It's super quick to clean the steps and the Swiffer gets into the corners of the steps where the dirt
05:47and
05:47hair collect. This is my little shoe bench. All the shoes get thrown on there and lots of dirt
05:54and dust accumulates under it. And it's very, very narrow. It's only a few inches off the floor,
06:00so a vacuum cleaner is really not going to get under there. The only thing I can get under there
06:04with
06:05is the Swiffer. Just bend down a little and I can get all the way under there.
06:12And it really cleans up everything on the bottom. Now the Swiffer will not pick up big things. It's
06:18not a vacuum. If I see bigger things on the floor, I'll just move it to one corner with the
06:22Swiffer
06:23and continue mopping. I'll pick them up at the end with the cloth so I don't have to use the
06:27vacuum.
06:28You will have to buy the dry and wet cloth refills separately. They're sold unscented and scented.
06:33Even the scented ones are pleasant to smell. The dry cloths come in a box and wet cloths in a
06:38tub so they
06:39don't dry out. Swiffer sells their own brand but I have used other brands and they work pretty well.
06:44I try to buy them in bulk to save a little money because I know it's something I'll use on
06:48a regular
06:48basis. Sometimes I can do two rooms with one wet or dry cloth. It really depends on how dirty your
06:55floors are. I have to say that the Swiffer Sweeper is one of the best cleaning tools ever invented.
07:01I really don't have any complaints about it except for one thing. I wish that the refills,
07:06the cloths were recyclable. Unfortunately, they're not. The Swiffer makes it really easy to clean the
07:12floors and saves your back. You don't have to bend down to clean the floors. The Swiffer is so light
07:18that it takes no effort to push around. It just glides across floors. The link to the Swiffer and
