00:50He peeped his whistle to tell Ari and Bert he was there.
00:55They thought it was a silly sound.

01:01He thought his whistle was better than a nasty horn.
01:07Later, Percy returned to the quarry.
01:10This time, Percy blew his whistle with all his puff and power.
01:16Harry and Bert nearly jumped out of their engines.
01:22Another day, Thomas and Percy were trying to stay especially clean.
01:27The railway inspector was going to give a prize to the cleanest engine.
01:32Thomas and Percy wanted to win.
01:36Suddenly, there was a rumble and a tumble.
01:40Thomas was covered from footplate to fender in quarry dust.
01:45But Thomas wasn't worried.
01:47Soon I'll be as clean as any engine, he tooted.

01:58There are two other engines who work at the quarry a lot.
02:02And they are Mavis and Diesel.
02:06One day, Thomas arrived to help them.
02:10Diesel thought this was a wonderful chance to tease Thomas.
02:16First, Diesel shunted Thomas under the hopper.
02:20Diesel laughed until his wheels wobbled.
02:25Then, when Thomas let off steam, Diesel called him a stinky steamy.
02:32Diesel was having lots of fun.
02:36Salty brought new fuel for all the diesels.
02:43Mavis and Diesel both started to cough and splutter.
02:47The new diesel oil had water in it.
02:50Diesel wasn't having fun anymore.
02:54Then, Thomas came to the rescue.
02:57He arrived with new diesel oil.
03:00Soon, Mavis and Diesel's engines were humming again.

03:15So that's why the quarry is very special for Mavis and Diesel.
