00:10you were going to see Tariq Skubal traded to the L.A. Dodgers over the weekend
00:14and that would be the lead of Monday's show.
00:17And here it is.
00:18And I got to tell you, if you're a fan of the L.A. Dodgers,
00:21you have to be absolutely positively thrilled.
00:25The Dodgers only care about one thing.
00:29Winning a championship for the guys in the locker room,
00:32for their amazing fans, that is the standard.
00:37It's crazy that other teams didn't, at the end of the day, go out and do this.
00:42I mean, the Milwaukee Brewers absolutely could have done it,
00:45absolutely should have done it.
00:47All the Brewers had to do was say, we're going for the jugular.
00:51We would rather, what a concept, win a championship
00:54or be in position to win a championship
00:57than stare at Baseball America prospect rankings
01:01and see how high we are on the list.
01:04That's the difference between the Dodgers and everybody else.
01:06This is amazing.
01:08And you look at Skubal, I mean, what are we talking about?
01:11We're talking about 2024, 2025.
01:13We're talking about back-to-back Cy Youngs.
01:1631-10, 2-3 ERA, 469 Ks against 6-62 starts.
01:21The guy's unbelievable.
01:23The Dodgers were super smart and super calculated.
01:27I don't want to hear whether they're going to create a work stoppage.
01:30So let me get this straight.
01:32You think that because the Dodgers trade for Skubal,
01:35this means that there's going to be a work stoppage in baseball
01:39and that's going to ultimately be the tipping point?
01:42There's going to be a work stoppage in baseball
01:44if the owners and the Players Association can't get on the same page.
01:47It's not about the Dodgers.
01:49I will never rip a team that plays within the rules
01:52and does everything they can to win a championship.
