00:00Let's check in now with Rochelle for more in tonight's weather forecast.
00:03Thanks, Nisha. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago.
00:06I hope you guys had a great weekend.
00:08And might I say you guys look fabulous in your African wear over the weekend.
00:13It's now time for your weather.
00:15We've been feeling the heat these past couple of days, even with the presence of some showers.
00:20This as El Nino continues to strengthen and is expected to influence global weather from August to October,
00:28bringing above average temperatures to many regions, including the Caribbean,
00:33where drier than normal conditions are also expected in some areas.
00:37Now, the Met Office says for Trinidad, mostly near normal rainfall totals are expected,
00:43while below normal rainfall totals are expected in Tobago.
00:47Flooding potential is moderate.
00:49A moderate chance exists for hot spells with maximum temperatures greater than 34 degrees Celsius in Trinidad
00:56and greater than 33 degrees Celsius in Tobago.
00:59There's a high probability of 16 three-day hot spells and three five-day hot spells occurring between August and
01:07October.
01:08Moving on now to what we can expect tonight.
01:11Tonight will be generally fair despite few isolated showers,
01:14with minimum temperatures at 25 degrees in Trinidad and 26 in Tobago.
01:19But cloudy periods with occasional showers are likely towards early morning.
01:23Now, those same showers will greet you in the morning,
01:26especially around that time you're looking to leave home to head to work.
01:30But the rest of the day will be mostly sunny and at times breezy.
01:34Daytime temperatures will reach up to 32 degrees in Trinidad and Tobago as well.
01:39And here's what you can look forward to for the next couple of days.
01:42On Wednesday, the sun will come out to work and give us performance.
01:46So that means wear your sunscreen.
01:49But it will also be accompanied by breeze with a few showers.
01:53And on Thursday, things sure will be a bit cooler with fair and breezy conditions interrupted by party cloudy intervals
02:02with showers favoring Trinidad.
02:04Tower sun times now in Trinidad.
02:06Sunrises at 5.55 and 5.51 in Tobago.
02:10And sunset at 6.28 in Trinidad and 6.26 in Tobago.
02:14And if tomorrow you feel like cooling down at the beach, seas will be moderate with waves near 1.5
02:20meters in open waters and below 1 meter in sheltered areas.
02:24It's now time for your Thai times.
02:37Now we've been talking a lot about the heat, but I wanted to hear from you personally.
02:42So I hit the streets to find out how you guys are coping.
02:45Take a look.
02:47As a business owner working during these hot sun hours, we're here with Shelly and we're going to ask her
02:53how she's coping with the heat.
02:56It's excruciating.
02:58Very, very hot.
02:59So what are you doing to stay hydrated?
03:01A lot of water.
03:02A lot, a lot of water.
03:04You're doing any sunscreen, anything for the skin?
03:06No, no sunscreen.
03:08How have you been coping with the heat?
03:10Drinking well, bottled water and coconut water and things.
03:13Great terrain.
03:14The heat, well, there's nothing much to really talk about because we're in the rainy season.
03:20So this heat must come first before the rain comes again.
03:22But I being from the country will know about that.
03:27You're getting any sunburn?
03:28You're staying hydrated?
03:29No, no, no, no, no, no sunburn.
03:31You're saying you're not getting any sunburn?
03:33I will think so.
03:35But are you staying hydrated?
03:36Yes, I am.
03:37Drinking enough water and stuff like that.
03:39Well, I normally do have a problem with it.
03:41I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum.
03:43I have a problem with cold, so it's not too bad.
03:46But you know, you hydrate and you wear shades for the, you know, the glare and that sort of thing.
03:52So you like the heat?
03:53Yes, I do.
03:54You haven't?
03:56I live in the tropics, so you have to get used to it.
03:58So tell me, how have you been coping with the heat?
04:00It had me frustrated, right?
04:03I drink plenty water, right?
04:06And rest properly and whatnot.
04:08Sleep plenty and whatnot.
04:10Bed plenty.
04:12That's good.
04:13Wanted to stay in Hedlton.
04:15Have a lot of bath.
04:16Right?
04:17And that was it.
04:20Well, there you have it.
04:22And well, that's all for weather tonight.
04:24Sergio, what is up with sports?
04:27Thank you, Rochelle.
