00:01Yutze Ancient City preserves more than 1,400 years of history.
00:07The site reflects the importance China places on its historical heritage
00:11and how these spaces can remain alive and become part of contemporary life.
00:16From this historic city, our correspondent Bruno Falci brings us the following report.
00:22In Shaanxi Province, Yutze Ancient City preserves a historical complex made up of traditional streets,
00:31temples, gardens and ancient buildings that reflect the architecture and ways of life
00:37from different periods of Chinese history.
00:40Among its most important structures are the former local government administrative office
00:47and the Shengguang Temple.
00:51The ancient city of Yuxi was built in the second year of the Kaifuang period of the Sui Dynasty,
00:56in 582 Ad, and today it has more than 400 years of history.
01:00The place where we are now is the Yuxi County, Yaman, the former county government office.
01:05It is a building from the Ming and Qing dynasties,
01:07and it is considered one of the best preserved and oldest county government offices in China.
01:12The preservation of Yutze is part of the Chinese government's public policies
01:17to protect and revitalize its historic cities.
01:21The ancient urban complex has undergone restoration process and infrastructure improvements,
01:28combining cultural preservation and tourism development,
01:32while creating new opportunities for the local population through job creation and new source of income.
01:39The work of the Communist Party of China in protecting its history, improving spaces, accessibility,
01:46and building tourism facilities is extremely important.
01:50Here, we find not only the elements of the historic city, but also services for visitors,
01:56including cafes, shops, accessibility facilities, and tour guides.
02:01This work, supported by significant investments, has brought benefits to the local population,
02:07allowing people to remember their ancestors and roots, while also looking toward the future.
02:13More than ancient buildings, Yutze's historic spaces preserve knowledge, traditions,
02:19and values accumulated over generations, a legacy that transcends borders and connects the past with the present.
02:27The heritage protection is a world challenge.
02:30It's a common task.
02:32And protecting the heritage is not just to respect your ancestors' creation, wisdom,
02:37but also to tell you how to solve today's problem.
02:40You know, there are many innovations, like how to deal with AI, climate change,
02:45in need, embodied from the ancient civilization.
02:47So how to make the heritage alive, to serve to the people's interests.
02:52Heritage also tells you about we have the shared history.
02:55Actually, this history is not Chinese.
02:58It is located in China, but it's blown to the world.
03:02The Chinese cultural heritage is part of China's national development plans.
03:09The 15-5-year plan established the preservation of historic cities,
03:14seeking to learn from the past and pass on this legacy to future generations
03:20as part of the path toward the future of the world's oldest continuous civilization.
