NASA just field-tested its next-generation rover prototype, ERNEST, in the California desert — and the results are wild. 🤖🏜️
Built at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, ERNEST (Exploration Rover for Navigating Extreme Sloped Terrain) traveled 16 miles in just 37 hours — more than 10x faster than Curiosity or Perseverance can move on Mars. It was even tested in total darkness to simulate lunar shadow conditions.
