For over a decade, this planet's pink glow was a total mystery. Scientists just solved it. ☁️
GJ 504b — the "Pink Planet" — is one of the coldest and faintest worlds ever directly imaged, too dim for ground telescopes to properly study. Using the James Webb Space Telescope, astronomers finally captured its full atmospheric fingerprint: water vapor, methane, ammonia, and — confirmed for the first time ever — clouds made of salt.

Key facts:
• Discovered in 2013, ~57 light-years away
• Age revised to 2.5–4 billion years old (JWST, 2026)
• First-ever direct evidence of salt clouds on a cold planetary object
