00:00I went to another city and just ran away and I got a job serving pizza and started to work
00:07and
00:07stay away from my mother and my stepfather. I met this man, he was eight and a half years older
00:12than
00:12me. And by the time I was 17 years old, I was married. And he became the next 18 years
00:19of
00:20marriage to him. I had no idea what love felt like to me. And when I met him, he was
00:27into
00:27and became physical when he used. When I finally decided that I had had enough, I found out I was
00:35pregnant and the children were born out of forceful contact and had my two kids. And again, I was
00:43fearful of telling people because he isolated us. The last time I was there, he tried to tell me I
00:50was on the floor. I could feel myself dying and I was able to break that hold and I ran.
00:54Within about
00:55six to eight month time period, I had sheltering for them and moved them out completely. And that
01:02was the day of our final freedom. After I went to counseling and got the help that I needed,
01:08I was about 50. And that's when things started to regain. I guess the most important thing I would
01:16want to say is that it's never your fault. And you're special because there is someone out there
01:23that will love you for who you are.
