00:00By not getting the professional help I needed through my high school years,
00:03when I went to my freshman year, I repeated situations and scenarios.
00:07A grad student started to stalk me and follow me, and I had no idea what this meant.
00:12And started leaving notes on my dorm room door, on my locker room, at practice, on my gym bag.
00:19And he literally lured me in one day, me, and the next morning I found myself in the wooded area
00:25on campus
00:26and had to go to the emergency room.
00:28They had to do a kid, and that was my fault.
00:31I caused all this, and it was just this horrendous experience.
00:35I couldn't understand that I could go through four years of abuse by all these professionals.
00:40And then this one grad student caused me to fall apart.
00:43It was like, you know, that last little thing that broke the camel's back.
00:47There I was.
00:47I had to go back home.
00:49And so my mother contacted the lawyers.
00:51They got me a flight home.
00:52I went back home.
00:53I was back in the circle.
00:54And I was really, really resistant about it.
00:58I was really not happy.
01:00By this point, I knew this was wrong.
01:02I went to the local school, the local university, and I met a teacher there who was a dance teacher.
01:07And because she thought that I could dance, and we started talking.
01:10And she was from New York.
01:11And she brought me into her office, and she says, I know the look in your eyes.
01:15Tell me what's going on.
01:16She was the first adult that ever asked me what was going on.
01:20So I slowly started to share my story with her, and she was the one that started to help me
01:27find my escape.
