00:11Logistics as a word has become very popular in India only over the last 7-8 years.
00:18It has been a word used very extensively by our Prime Minister and the other ministers.
00:26So, now there is a hype for the whole thing but the cargo industry in India has consistently
00:34grown over the last 65-75 years from maybe 3 or 4 international airports, we are now at
00:44about 11 or 12 international airports and the domestic airports, presently we are totally
00:52at about 150 airports and we hope that we India should have around 400 airports in the near
01:00future.
01:01Now, this opens up an avenue for smaller aircrafts, this opens up an avenue for e-commerce going
01:12right into the interiors of India, it also opens up an market for the artisans and the
01:20cottage industries in India because then the nearest airport would be only within 40-50
01:27kilometers from where it is being produced.
01:30To give you an idea about what is the whole scene, our estimate is that India does approximately
01:41200,000 international courier shipments every month, these do not include e-com, e-com is
01:50considered as a separate category and that figure is expected to be at around 300,000.
01:56To this you have to add approximately 10,000 air shipments handled through Indian customs on
02:07a daily basis and all of this was only the international portion.
02:13The domestic portion is much larger than that.
02:16So, it is something that India has adopted very easily with both hands and we have a good
02:28domain knowledge in the way you handle air cargo before reaching the airport, at the airport,
02:35on to the aircraft, off the aircraft, at the airport and after the airport.
02:41And this industry is growing very fast, we have more and more people entering this segment regularly.
02:51In addition, the universities and the colleges have also started teaching logistics and air cargo is a very integral part
03:04of logistics.
03:05So, you will now find people in cities where the nearest airport is 200, 300 kilometers away but the youth
03:15understand air cargo and they want to make careers over there.
03:19Next, I'll let a go.
