00:00We have information coming in with regard to a suspected technical issue with the cargo compartment of the Air India
00:06Delhi to London flight, according to what sources are telling India Today Television.
00:11The crew suspected issue related to the cargo compartment, the cargo section of the aircraft and the aircraft has gone
00:21under maintenance right now. It is operated by Air India. The issue was believed to have been resolved.
00:27So there was a check that was done. It was believed to have been resolved. We are not yet aware
00:31about the exact details of what kind of an issue this was with regard to the cargo section.
00:37However, the recurrence of the problem was suspected by the crew. So it was an alert crew that noted something
00:43was amiss in the cargo section.
00:45The aircraft was en route London. Sources have confirmed that the DGCA has initiated an investigation into the incident.
00:53All right. The aircraft details I have. According to my information, this was AI-111 Airbus 350.
01:02AI-111 Airbus 350 experienced strong thudding, excessive noise en route London on 26th March.
01:10Aircraft immediately was turned back from the airspace near Oban airspace.
01:14And of course, the investigation is currently underway.
01:17So, Amit Bhardwa joins me for the latest on that. Amit also to credit to the alert crew to ensure
01:24that they picked on that something was amiss and in time turned it around.
01:28But can you tell us, is it possible to specify what kind of issue was it? Do we have details?
01:34What is being done right now with the aircraft? And I hope everyone's safe.
01:38Pooja, first information first. This particular aircraft AI-111, which is Airbus 350, was flying from Delhi to London.
01:47And it was around the airspace of Saudi Arabia and Oman when the crew suspected some kind of technical glitch,
01:56technical snag in the aircraft.
01:57What my sources confirmed me was that it was thudding or very excessive noise that was being heard and because
02:05the same craft had undergone maintenance on March 16th,
02:09a similar incident was experienced in that particular aircraft after which proper inspection was carried out by the, you know,
02:16operator as well as Airbus in this, you know, in context of the craft.
02:2110 sectors was done by the similar craft. No such incident was reported. However, because this thudding was, excessive noise
02:31was heard, the crew decided to fly back to India to the base that is in Delhi.
02:35It landed safely. Now, what is more important is that DGCA has initiated probe into the matter as well as
02:43the airworthiness department and air safety department officers will be taking forward the investigation into this incident.
02:50Back to you.
02:51Amit, thank you for bringing us this big news and specifically for this, at this juncture, remember, at least any
02:57incident has been averted and the aircraft has, of course, been turned back.
