00:04The wait is over. Pennywise Cosmetics has officially expanded its footprint in East
00:10Trinidad with the grand opening of its newest store in Trin City. The opening marks Pennywise
00:16Cosmetics' third mega plaza, giving shoppers an even wider selection of beauty and wellness
00:22products all under one roof. From skincare and makeup to fragrances, hair care and everyday
00:29essentials. Customers poured through the doors to explore the spacious new location and take
00:35advantage of opening day deals. Speaking at the grand opening, Minister of Finance Dave Tanku said
00:41developments like Pennywise Plaza represent more than economic statistics, emphasizing that real
00:48economic growth is driven by people and the opportunities created for communities.
00:54Far too often when we speak about economic development, we speak in terms of numbers and statistics
01:01and balance sheets. But economics and economies are ultimately built by people. People who
01:09are willing to take the risks. People who put in the hard work as was done here, as we just
01:14saw. People who invest their resources, create opportunities for others and think about not
01:21only where they are today, but also imagine where they want the country and themselves to be tomorrow.
01:29Minister of Trade, Investment and Tourism Satyakama Maharaj also commended Pennywise for its continued
01:35support of locally manufactured products, saying the company's commitment aligns with the government's
01:41Buy Local, Build Local campaign. Partnerships with companies like Pennywise are essential as we continue to
01:51to diversify our economy and strengthen our non-energy sector. I am particularly pleased that Pennywise continues to support products
01:59made in Trinidad and Tobago by local manufacturers and they have always done that.
02:05This aligns with the ministry's Buy Local, Build Through and Bagel campaign, which encourages consumers and businesses to support local
02:13manufacturers, strengthen domestic industries and create new opportunities for entrepreneurs.
02:20CEO of Pennywise Cosmetics, Darvi Palladi said the expansion reflects the company's commitment to making quality beauty products more accessible
02:30while ensuring customers continue to receive value for their money.
02:36Every single item has to come from me for a final price. Because I am aware of the struggles my
02:49customers have, our customers have to make ends meet in this country. And we will do everything we can to
03:01save people more.
03:02Palladi added that the company continues to search internationally for affordable products that can be passed on to customers through
03:11lower prices and greater savings.
03:14Recently we make an international trip.
03:17Recently we make an international trip, both me and Sivam, for one reason. Just imagine, two flights, nine hours, to
03:26find one item that we can sell two packs of liquid soap for $10, or $20.
03:39And I know people depend on that type of savings.
03:47With music giveaways, exclusive promotions and excited shoppers filling the aisles, the grand opening was a celebration of continued community
03:56growth.
03:57And here's you downholders, oddly from parents.
