00:00Alicia Silverstone is officially returning to the world of Clueless for a new sequel series.
00:05The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Paramount Plus has greenlit a project which will see the
00:10actress reprise her iconic role of Cher Horowitz. The series will revisit the character 30 years
00:15after the events of the original film. Now she's the owner of a successful business and a mother
00:20who seems to have it all figured out until her teenage daughter enters high school.
00:24Cue her feeling again, well, Clueless.
00:32The new series will shoot on location in LA and be executive produced by Silverstone,
00:37the original film's director Amy Heckerling, and producer Robert Lawrence. Josh Schwartz and
00:42Stephanie Savage, the creators of The O.C. and Gossip Girl, will write and executive produce
00:47under their fake Empire banner, along with Jordan Weiss. The project has had a twisty path. The
00:52series was previously in development at Peacock in 2025, but was then scrapped at the streamer
00:57and taken back out to market. The 1995 film, a then-modern adaptation of the Jane Austen classic
