00:07know in life that's so rare and I just I'm very appreciative Mikaela and I
00:24met in Manchester England Mikaela was there working as a model and she was at
00:31a holiday party and I was friends with the guy who was throwing the holiday
00:36party and I was actually DJing the holiday party and I noticed Mikaela from
00:41across the room and we made eye contact and kind of just you know had an eye
00:47contact going on for the the night and before she left I was like I just have
00:52to get your information and that was the beginning of our romance it was it was
00:56love at first sight we've been together ever since yeah yeah literally from that
01:01first time that we met in a cute holiday party in Manchester England what a
01:07romantic comedy story
01:20when conflict arises how do we problem-solve well Mick has a very high level of
01:29emotional intelligence and being with her has really helped me you know increase my
01:36emotional intelligence and how we work through any issues that may arise but
01:40when it comes to something that we may not agree on I think the thing that I've
01:44come to notice and learn is that she's usually right so it's just best for me to
01:50you know happy wife happy life it yes we handle conflict by listening to each other I
01:57remain calm I you know help walk him through what he's doing and what he's
02:02actually trying to articulate and you know it just takes patience and
02:07understanding one another
02:18I rented out an art gallery in Miami Perez Museum of Art and I told her that we
02:24were going to an event there we went and she was looking around like where is
02:28everybody because the art gallery is completely empty and I'm like oh the
02:32events on the rooftop so when we go to the rooftop the elevator opens up families
02:37there it's overlooking the water you know and then I got down on one knees and
02:42neither one of us remembers anything that I said so yeah it was a really
02:47special moment my reaction I was just in complete shock at first I didn't see that
02:52my friends and family were there they were behind a curtain and once he got down on
02:56one knee the curtain rose up and I just saw everybody standing there waiting for
03:03me to answer and then as soon as I said yes they came running out and met us on the
03:09carpet and it was just such a beautiful proposal it was absolutely perfect he put
03:14a lot of thought and detail into it and it was everything I could have ever wanted
03:34we have had the best trip of our life not only were we able to you know celebrate the biggest
03:42day of our life but we were able to bring our
03:44entire family we had all of our friends we had a hundred and thirty people from all
03:50over the world come to Dubai we had a beautiful curated dinner in the desert we got to
03:57experience a yacht that took us all the way around the marina we got to walk
04:02through global village and experience all this culture and good food it's kind of
04:07one of those places that has it all so we're really happy with our decision to get
04:11married here hospitality is world-class we've been staying at the Atlantis the
04:16Royal and and it's just been absolutely stunning and fantastic the foods great
04:22the vibes are great and yeah to be able to celebrate this with my family and the
04:28love of my life yeah it's been great

04:5810 years from now when I look back at this moment and I think about who I can
05:06be and what this relationship and what love has taught me is I really just want
05:12to be the best husband that I can be and the best version of a man that I can be

05:19saw somewhere on tik-tok it was something that said you'll never in your
05:23life have everybody that you know that you love that means something to you
05:31there's only two times when that will happen and you're only around for one of
05:35them and so for me when I look at 10 years from now 20 years from now like I just
05:42want to enjoy and embrace every single moment with her I think when you lose
05:48somebody you realize how precious time is and how precious life is and how you
05:55know all of these moments are fleeting right and so to be able to really like be
06:01here and be in the moment it's really a blessing
06:16you know essence has always been a part of my life growing up essence has been sitting you know on
06:23the nightstand and on the coffee table it's it's been a magazine that has been a part of the culture
06:31and
06:31a part of my personal journey you know I've been to so many essence festivals I can't
06:35even count them and so for me to be able to have this experience with my family at
06:41essence it really meant a lot yeah we both really wanted essence I mean like he said
06:47it's a big part of our lives I've been to a lot of essence events as well and it was
06:53just super important to have a magazine that supports the culture be a part of
