00:47So, like, 80s rock, you know, in terms of me being born in the 70s,
00:55you know, that makes me about, like, you know, seven or eight when all that music was just starting to

01:03I would love to bring Babyface. We could go anywhere. That'd be really cool to build with him like that.
01:10Also, someone who's extremely important to me is Jimmy Jam.
01:17Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are, you know, those are my other favorite producers, you know, and just to get
01:24to build with those two would be amazing.
01:27If I had to add a third person to that, it'd probably be someone like Teddy Riley.

02:02I think Babyface is a perfectionist on a level of knowing exactly, precisely how he wants it and how to
02:11communicate that is the real art of what he does.
02:14The way that he just will suggest something to you and his tone of his voice and his intention is
02:21really what goes into making the magic that he's able to produce with his artists.
02:26It's all about refining something and getting better because you love it that much that you want it to get
02:31better.
02:31I think getting better is just like the byproduct of doing it a lot. You know what I mean?
02:36You get better. You get good at something the more you do it. So whatever it is, if you love
02:42it, keep doing it.
02:43You know, I really claimed R&B unapologetically right from the beginning.
02:49I started to admit my influences and show my lineage to R&B and how I was connected to it.
02:56And I love to draw the lineage because that really is what it's all about.
03:01You know, it's showing gratitude to where you get it all from.
03:06I feel like my love songs and my songs in general are manifestations because so much of my music that
03:13I've spoken about, you know, and I've written the songs and I'm thinking I'm in the moment.
03:18But I notice how I've actually grown into a lot of my music.
03:23And I like saw the future.
