She spent 30 hours helping one tiny bee! Scarlet found this exhausted bumblebee on the floor of her barn and refused to give up on her. At The Dodo, we're always moved by the lengths people will go to help animals in need, no matter how small.

00:00She looked totally depleted.
00:03The dodo reached out to me about this bee that I saved,
00:07and I want to tell you guys this story.
00:09I was walking through the barn aisle carrying a massive load of hay on my shoulders
00:13and almost stepping on this big black thing.
00:17I didn't know what it was right away.
00:19Come here, buddy.
00:20I looked at the bee up close, and the bee was struggling.
00:24Are you okay?
00:25It looked like she really needed nectar.
00:28I brought her over to my porch right here.
00:31I went inside, and I got an orange, and I cut it up into pieces.
00:35She just right away was on top of that orange, eating as much as she could.
00:41I can see your tongue.
00:43I didn't know if it was the cold or lack of food that was making her unable to fly around,
00:49but we were out of the wind.
00:50It was a little bit warmer.
00:52I watched her get stronger and stronger.
00:54She started cleaning her legs, and I know that that's a sign.
00:57She's not dying.
00:58She's actively living.
01:00We sat on the porch together for a while, and then at one point, it looked like she
01:05kind of went into a little bit of a food coma.
01:09Oh!
01:11Here, grab my arm.
01:12Grab my finger.
01:14I have a ring camera so I could watch her from inside, so I decided to take that horse feed
01:19bucket, put it on the deck.
01:21It felt like she just needed time, and I didn't want her getting too warm inside and waking
01:27up in the middle of the night and then somehow getting lost in my house.
01:31Good morning.
01:34I cut up new oranges for breakfast, and when I came back, you guys, she was gone.
01:40She's gone.
01:42She flew away.
01:45And then I heard her.
01:46Look at you, buddy.
01:49Look at you.
01:50She was sucking on the flowers of that herb.
01:54Feeling good.
01:57Oh my god, I love you.
01:59I felt my heart explode.
02:01To watch such a delicate, beautiful creature go from needing a human's help the way she did
02:07to receiving that help and then being able to really take off and be on her flower journey
02:13again, it was one of the best 30-hour chunks of my life.
