00:24We're coming to this franchise from a very similar place
00:28where we have these characters that we've gotten the opportunity to show,
00:32maybe briefly, and I know how much Channing just loves Gambit
00:37and has just, you know, he's been with that character
00:40for a lot longer than people even understand and know.
00:43You know, he's been developing that movie for ages
00:47and, you know, being able to celebrate that, first of all, is so incredible.
00:54And then just knowing that as a human being
00:56when he reads a fight scene on a script, he's like,
00:58I want to be the one to do it.
01:00You know, it's the exact same way that I like to work.
01:02So, you know, our stunt doubles had a really great day
01:05because they didn't really do much.
01:07Because as you can see in the trailer, it's really...
01:08It's us.
01:10And, you know, I know that the...
01:12You know, we work in an industry where the actors are incredibly protected.
01:16And so if we wanted to, you know, we could do none of it
01:20and we could have stunt doubles come in.
01:21But I knew with Chan that that wasn't going to be either of our experience.
01:26And so, you know, I think it paid off
01:29and I think I've just been really blown away
01:31by how the fans have responded to it.
01:34And this is your first time working with the Russo brothers for Doomsday.
01:38Does anything about their style stand out in particular to you
01:41compared to just previous work you've done?
01:43I mean, I think there was something about their style
01:47that felt actually weirdly familiar.
01:50I think because I came from, like, the world of sitcoms.
01:54And, you know, they, very famously, came from Community.
01:56It's like, you know, they're helming these massive, gargantuan movies.
02:00But they've got this kind of, like, punk rock, indie, improv kind of way about it.
02:06So we'd be on set oftentimes and, you know,
02:10we'd have a loose idea of what we needed or blocking or the lighting.
02:14But really, like, they let us, you know,
02:16they really let us play and let us find the scenes
02:19because, you know, a lot of the time, you know,
02:21what was on the page was good.
02:23But what the actors would find in the moment was even better.
