00:09But some stunning news in the NFL and it involves the Rams' NFC West rival, San Francisco 49ers,
00:16longtime head coach Kyle Shanahan was involved in a serious car accident that resulted in severe
00:21injuries. 40 stitches to his face, multiple broken bones, a broken nose and a severe concussion and
00:29that leaves his status for training camp in quite a bit of limbo. Kyle's going to be limited to start
00:35training camp, not quite sure when he's going to be able to resume full activities. But for the time
00:39being, Chris Forrester, his assistant head coach, will take over some of those head coaching
00:43responsibilities and their offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator will kind of run the ship
00:49on both sides of that ball. But certainly not the way the 49ers wanted to start their season. Obviously
00:55huge expectations in the Bay Area as there are here in Los Angeles for the Rams. We're talking
01:00Super Bowl aspirations, not the start that the 49ers wanted to get off to this year without a doubt.
01:06But more than anything, and I think this is being expressed throughout the NFL, is that Kyle is doing
01:11better and is on the road to recovery. That's the most important thing. Football is a little bit
01:16secondary here, but clearly not the way the 49ers wanted to start this season.
