00:00Here we go again.
00:01Brush off being labeled MAGA Barbie and serving as a ring girl for Dana White's UFC.
00:07The Indiana Fever's Sophie Cunningham has given us yet another gem to add to her legacy.
00:14And no, she is not the Vice President of the United States yet, but
00:18the Trump-led White House sure does love using her in their social media strategy.
00:25Speaking with ESPN, here was the write-up.
00:28You say she's MAGA Barbie, as some corners of the internet have taken to calling her
00:33projection, she claims, because what she looks like and where she's from.
00:38That's not it.
00:39She'll weigh in on how to protect women's sports because she's in that world and feels
00:44qualified to speak to that world.
00:46Quote, I got a lot of negative feedback about me hating trans.
00:51And I'm like, I never once said that.
00:54I think that I am here to extend love, but I also think with that love is truth, being
01:01honest.
01:02And I want to protect young girls in a locker room or young girls in sport who shouldn't
01:07have to go against biological men.
01:10Just a second.
01:11Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:15She got her talking points from a person that she follows on Instagram, Riley Gaines, the
01:22anti-trans activist who finished fifth and has made her career off of that very finish.
01:30And then Sophie.
01:31Oh, yes, that's right.
01:32That's right.
01:33Let's follow the trend here.
01:35She also follows Charlie and Erica Kirk's Turning Point USA.
01:41Don't get it twisted.
01:42We know exactly who she is.
01:44As author Kylie Chung wrote, effing awful.
01:48Can't imagine being an adult with a large platform and choosing to bully vulnerable children
01:53in this way.
01:54Truly disgusting and beyond disappointing.
01:56One person even wrote that, like Riley Gaines, Sophie Cunningham is going to be an episode
02:03on Pablo Torre Finds Out.
02:05Phenomenal show, by the way.
02:06I really don't know how much more we have to hear from Sophie Cunningham for people to
02:11reach the conclusion that many of us already see.
02:16Imagine in an era of fascism where you say, yeah, you know, I don't agree with both sides,
02:21but I don't really disagree with either side.
02:23I'm a fence straddler.
02:25In times like these, you try playing that.
02:29That is a lame out.
02:32That is weak sauce.
02:34Because in times of injustice, if you stay neutral, you are siding with the oppressors.
02:42It is fairly easy to see.
02:45And I believe once more people do reach that conclusion, then it'll become that much easier
02:51amongst many fans outside of the W.
02:57Yeah, we got to talk about a lady by the name of Sophie Cunningham, which you guys just saw
03:03a couple images of her there because she is refusing to capitulate to the mob.
03:12And obviously, the mob is going after her, as you heard there in that first clip.
03:16There's a lot of folks on the left who are not happy about this because she is doubling
03:21down on what she said.
03:23She is standing on business.
03:25If you guys aren't familiar with Sophie Cunningham, she is an Indiana Fever basketball player,
03:33women's basketball player.
03:34This is her right here on the screen.
03:37She formerly played for, I want to say, some team in Phoenix, if I remember correctly, and
03:42got traded to her current team.
03:45She's obviously made a major name for herself since she came to the Indiana Fever with Caitlin
03:55Clark.
03:56Well, how am I forgetting her last name now?
03:59Caitlin Clark.
03:59I believe that's her name.
04:02And been going viral.
04:04Been absolutely going viral because she's kind of an enforcer on her team.
04:10Like, she's a no-nonsense type of individual who isn't going to take anything from anyone
04:16and is going to protect Caitlin out there on the court.
04:20And she also shoots the basketball pretty well.
04:21I think I saw something about, like, she's shooting, like, 40-something percent from the
04:27three-point line, which is, that's pretty darn good.
04:31Shooting almost 50 percent from the three is crazy.
04:34It's crazy.
04:35All right?
04:36Absolutely insane.
04:37Steph Curry doesn't even shoot the three that well.
04:40Okay?
04:41I believe he shoots almost 40 percent, if not 40 percent.
04:44But, yeah.
04:45So, that should tell you how great of shooting that is.
04:48But, she hasn't been in any, and I want to talk about it.
04:51But, here is the clip of her doubling down on what she said.
04:56Check it out.
04:56On that same vein, in that story with ESPN, you talked about wanting to protect young girls
05:00who shouldn't have to go against biological men.
05:02Just, can you expand your viewpoint on that?
05:04I mean, I think I said what I said.
05:05I think it's kind of common sense.
05:08And, I think I'll always believe in that.
05:10I think it's really important to protect children.
05:12And, that's little girls who are also involved in that category.
05:16And, so, I stand on what I said.
05:19And, I always believe that.
05:20Yeah.
05:21Do you see your advocacy on that, like, taking any form going forward?
05:24You know, I don't know.
05:25I didn't.
05:26I'm not a very political person.
05:27But, I do have beliefs.
05:28I have morals.
05:29And, I'll always stand on those and be true to who I am.
05:32And, I think people are going to take it how they want to take it.
05:36But, I've never even really said anything about that.
05:38And, so, when it comes just to protecting young girls in sport and women in sport,
05:43I feel very strongly about that.
05:45I think that's why you have Title IX.
05:47That's why you have some of the greats in women's sports.
05:50If Title IX and women's sports weren't protected,
05:53then you wouldn't hear about any type of women in sport.
05:54And, so, I think in the future, it's just really important to protect.
05:59Do you think, I guess, along the lines, like, that it goes against perhaps –
06:04some people might say, hey, for the trans community,
06:06this could be something that could come back on us or be targeted against us.
06:09Like, how do you, I guess, view that sort of critique?
06:12You know, like I said, I extend love.
06:14And, I don't dislike anyone.
06:17Like, I think there is room for absolutely everyone here.
06:19And, I think there's room to love everyone.
06:20And, I truly think when you get people in the same room and you have conversations,
06:24you actually have a lot in common with a lot of people.
06:27And, so, I'm there to love.
06:29But, I'm also there to love biological women.
06:32And, I think that there are rights that need to be protected.
06:35And, like I said, I'm going to stand true to that.
06:38I'll never falter in my beliefs in that.
06:40But, I have never once said I hated the trans community.
06:44Like I said, I think there's space for everyone.
06:46Sophie, what about Connecticut tonight?
06:48Tell us a little bit about the game.
06:49Are you thinking about who's or garden?
06:51Brittany, you know her so well.
06:52Yeah, you know, I think it has been so fun.
06:54I played with BG for six years.
06:56And, so, I know her like the back of my hand.
06:58And, as of late, she's been playing really good.
07:00She's been playing like O.G., Brittany.
07:02And, so, we have our hands full down in the paint.
07:04I really think, actually, Connecticut is playing really good as a whole.
07:07I think everyone's playing their role really well from top to bottom.
07:11You know, they don't go out there and do anything outside of what they do.
07:14And, that makes it difficult.
07:15And, so, yeah, you can look at standings and where they're at in the league.
07:18But, when you do that in this league, you're going to get beat by 50.
07:20And, so, we have one more game before break.
07:23And, we cannot take this game lightly at all.
07:26And, so, we have to come out with following our scout, following our game plan offensively,
07:30making them play us into what we do.
07:32But, you know, BG is a load for anybody.
07:35Last one I have, Sophie.
07:37How do you, I guess, navigate a climate where whatever you say, people are going to say,
07:41well, this means you're automatically in this box or that box or this label or that label,
07:45politically, morally, whatever?
07:47Yeah, I really don't care.
07:49I know that sounds bad.
07:50And, I'm not trying to come off like that.
07:51But, I do think, you know, everyone always is coming at it as a negative.
07:55Well, me coming out with that, there are so many people who are coming out with the positive,
07:58saying, you know what, finally someone has said something.
08:01And, I don't really look at either side of those because I know whatever I say,
08:06I'm going to get hate and I'm going to get love.
08:08And, if I'm going to live by the love, I'm going to die by the hate.
08:10And, that's just not who I am.
08:12I beat to my own drum.
08:13And, so, people are always going to have something to say.
08:15You could win the championship.
08:16You could be the best at whatever it is.
08:18And, there's still people who are going to hate on you.
08:20And, so, that's just what this world is.
08:22So, I'm confident in who I am.
08:23I'm proud of who I am.
08:24I'm happy being me.
08:26And, I'm going to continue to be that.
08:27Good answer.
08:28Do you have kind of that mentality when it comes to, you know, people saying things?
08:31Or, is that something you've built and learned to adapt over time?
08:34You know, I think I've always kind of been able to, you know, handle that type of pressure,
08:42I would say.
08:43And, the type of eyes and the type of people who have comments.
08:47And, like I said, there's, you know, going to be some negative comments.
08:49But, there's also a whole bunch of positive comments, too, that no one really ever, you
08:53know, people hate positivity for some reason.
08:54I have no idea why.
08:55But, there's a lot of positive comments, too, when it comes to that.
08:59And, so, you know, it is what it is.
09:01Like I said, we're all human.
09:02We're all, no one's perfect here.
09:04And, so, I really don't care what other people have to say.
09:07I know who I am.
09:07My people know who I am.
09:09And, hopefully, I'm doing them proud.
09:11And, you know, making room for young boys and girls in our world to have a better future
09:15than we did.
09:17Good answer.
09:17Good answer.
09:18You know, and we rocking with you, Sophie.
09:20We rock.
09:21We rock.
09:21I can't even talk.
09:23We rocking with you, Sophie.
09:24We rocking with you.
09:26You know, I feel the exact same way.
09:29Right?
09:29I feel the exact same way.
09:31And, a lot of folks on the left, literally everybody on the left, will call that hate.
09:35But, it's not hate.
09:36I never said I hated anybody.
09:38Right?
09:41But, because you don't capitulate, because you don't agree, they automatically label it
09:45as hate.
09:46Because, for a while there, some of you guys can remember this, there was something called
09:50cancel culture.
09:52Right?
09:53Whenever they, and it was whenever they accused you of something, they got you canceled.
09:58Well, they're still attempting to do that kind of stuff, but cancel culture has long
10:02sailed, and thank goodness for that, that cancel culture is gone.
10:06We don't play by that anymore, because it was absolutely silly what they were doing.
10:09Right?
10:10It was simply because you disagreed, you know, with these folks.
10:15They labeled you as hateful.
10:17Right?
10:17That's what they always do.
10:19And, it's like, no, I didn't, first off, I didn't say anything hateful.
10:23Second, I don't hate these individuals.
10:26I might disagree with you, but that doesn't mean that I hate you.
10:30That might be your stance, which we all know that is the stance on the left.
10:34If they disagree with you, then they hate you.
10:36Which, you know, obviously, that's what I've talked about this before.
10:39That's one of the things that I've learned, you know, on this journey that I call Discovering
10:43the Truth, is that the left always accuses us of what they're actually doing, or what
10:48they actually are.
10:49Right?
10:50So, when we disagree with them, they automatically label that as hate, and we're like, no, we
10:54don't hate you.
10:55We disagree with you.
10:57We think some of the stuff you do is just bats crazy, but we don't hate you.
11:02But, they say that because they hate us, because they disagree with us.
11:07You see what I mean?
11:08And, yeah, man, it's just absolutely silly.
11:11What she said was common sense, and I agree with it 100%.
11:15I also agree with, you know, when she was talking about how she beats to her own drum.
11:21She doesn't care about other people's opinions.
11:23You know?
11:24I do the same thing.
11:26I don't care.
11:27You know?
11:29I've seen some DMs from folks calling me all types of names as if that's going to affect
11:34me in any way, shape, or form.
11:35It doesn't.
11:37It doesn't.
11:38Like, I don't care.
11:39I couldn't.
11:40I genuinely couldn't care less.
11:43I couldn't.
11:44You know?
11:46It's just like, hmm.
11:49Thanks, I guess.
11:50You know?
11:51I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to send me a DM.
11:55DM, I guess.
11:58You know?
12:00Like, I don't.
12:02I genuinely don't know what people, like, expect when they send, like, a, oh, you're
12:07Uncle T or whatever else DM.
12:09And it's like, oh, like, what did you expect?
12:12Like, you expect me to reply or cry or run and hide or, like, I'm confused.
12:20You know?
12:21But anyway, y'all get into the comments.
12:23Let me know your thoughts and your opinions.
12:24If you agree.
12:25If you disagree.
12:25Have you guys gone to a WNBA game?
12:27Let me know.
12:28I might have to get to one when Sophie and Caitlin play.
12:34Because those are about the only people that I'll care to watch.
12:37I'm just keeping it 100.
12:39I'm keeping it a buck, okay?
12:41Those are about the only two in the WNBA that I would care to watch is Sophie and Caitlin.
12:48And they just so happen to be on the same team.
12:50So, that's also amazing.
12:52So, yeah.
12:53Maybe I'll get to a game one of these days.
12:55But, yeah.
12:56Let me know if you've gone to a WNBA game.
12:58All right?
12:59Stay safe out there.
12:59Peace and love.
13:00I'm out.
