01:13Venezuela's acting president, Sergio Ríos, led a military promotion ceremony of officers, generals and admirals of the Bolivarian National Armed
01:21Forces.
01:21The ceremony was held on the 243rd anniversary of Simón Bolívar's birth and the 203rd anniversary of the Battle of
01:28Lake Maracaibo.
01:30In this context, acting president calls for national unity under the legacy of Libertator Simón Bolívar, origin political unity to
01:37safeguard the country's stability and peace.
01:39For a moment, Rodriguez emphasized the armed forces' response to the twin earthquakes that struck the country a month ago,
01:45highlighting their rescue operations and support for affected communities.
01:54And on Friday, Venezuelan acting president, Sergio Ríos, also welcomed a U.S. congressional delegation as part of the ongoing
02:00efforts to advance the bilateral relations in strategic areas.
02:04Acting president Ríos received the CODEL delegation, led by Florida Republican Representative Brian Moss, to review progress in key areas.
02:13The visit marks the first official trip to Venezuela by members of the U.S. House of Representatives, since diplomatic
02:19ties were restored during the March 17th visit of the delegation of senior congressional staff.
02:24In this context, the U.S. authorities will meet with Venezuelan defense and anti-lock authorities on combating transnational organized
02:31crime and border security.
02:40And Venezuela announced its decision to notify the United Nations of its withdrawn from the Rome statue, thereby beginning its
02:47definitive exit from the International Criminal Court.
02:49Through the social media platform X, Venezuela's Foreign Minister Felix Plasencia stated, Venezuela believes the court's actions demonstrate geographical bias
02:58because it has disproportionately focused its work on African and Latin American countries, which harms the global South.
03:04This pattern reveals an international justice system that, rather than being applied fairly, has been used to deepen inequalities among
03:11nations and disregard the right to self-determination and sovereignty.
03:15This bias is not a procedural coincidence, but rather a reflection on an institution that has placed its mechanisms at
03:22the service of interests unrelated to justice and the people it claims to protect.
03:26We therefore reject this form of lawfare, which perpetuates the persecution of the Venezuelan people and exacerbates the inequalities that
03:34the international justice should correct.
03:36We reaffirm our commitment to a genuinely equitable system of justice that respects the sovereignty and self-determination of the
03:43peoples.
03:47Let's recall that the Venezuelan government previously proposed withdrawing from the International Criminal Court in 2023.
03:53At the time, President Nicolás Maduro expressed concerns about the ICC's actions, arguing the threat on the sovereignty of the
03:59countries in the Global South.
04:01In this regard, the Venezuelan head of state denounced the ICC's investigation into the Venezuela First case, claiming that the
04:07ICC sought to politicize false crimes against humanity
04:10and offenses that had already been investigated by the national justice system as part of a regime change strategy promoted
04:16by the U.S. authorities.
04:17The National Assembly of Venezuela supported this position, describing the ICC's actions as a form of lawfare
04:24and reaffirmed its commitment to a genuine equitable and sovereign justice system that serves the interests of the people.
04:38On the other hand, Venezuela and Peru begin progressive process to fully resume bilateral relations.
04:43In a statement, Venezuelan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced,
04:46The Government of Peru and Venezuela wish to inform you that they have decided to begin a progressive process towards
04:52fully resuming bilateral relations.
04:54The statement also noted,
04:56In an initial state, both countries have agreed to reestablish consular relations as a first step towards fully restoring bilateral
05:03ties.
05:03The immediate purpose is to ensure protection and consular services for their nationals residing in both broader countries.
05:10In addition, the document stated,
05:12This commitment to cooperation and integration is based on the historic ties of friendship and Latin American solidarity
05:18that have united Peru and Venezuela since their Republican origins.
05:22These ties inspire our joint efforts to promote the development and the well-being of our peoples and the region.
05:50The government of Venezuela released an updated official report detailing the figures on the damage, losses and measures taken
05:56after the earthquakes that struck the country on June 24.
06:00According to the official report released on July 24, 2026,
06:04the death toll has risen to 5,546 but the number of injured remains at 16,740.
06:12Authorities also reported that 6,462 people were rescued.
06:16The report indicates that 128,324 families have received assistance and 23,811 people are in temporary camps.
06:26While 17,907 families have lost their homes.
06:30In addition, 856 buildings were damaged and 190 collapsed.
06:35Relief efforts have included the distribution of 10,977,336 tons of food and 51,215,582 liters of water.
06:46While 47,942 people have received medical treatment.
06:51A total of 2,278 international rescue workers are assisting the country alongside 30,989 deployed personnel and 31,745
07:02volunteers.
07:04Finally, authorities also reported the establishment of 107 temporary camps and the recording of 1,500 aftershocks.
07:18One month after the double earthquake that struck Venezuela, affecting thousands of people,

07:32The Telesur paid a heartfelt tribute at its headquarters in the Venezuelan capital to the victims of the double earthquake
07:38that occurred on June 24.
07:40This event left a lasting mark on the lives of Venezuelans and also on the channel's employees,
07:46who, shortly after 6.00 p.m. that day, experienced a moment that changed their lives forever.
07:53The first priority was to safeguard everyone's lives, following safety protocols to evacuate all staff.
08:01Once that was done, we confirmed that everything was okay.
08:05The building appeared to be intact.
08:11Immediately, the president began contacting each of us one by one.
08:15Look, we need to spring into action.
08:17We have to go on air right away. This seems serious.
08:20We're going to go live no matter what.
08:23Of course, there were only three of us, four people total at the station.
08:26First, we had to protect the rest of the staff and go on the air with minimal equipment.
08:34After we went on the air, that's when we began to grasp the true magnitude of the earthquake and everything
08:42that had happened.
08:44The books I have in my office fell on top of me.
08:49The computer and the monitors I have there fell on top of us.
08:56But that was nothing compared to what I had to go through later, because that same day I was assigned
09:04to go down to La Guayra, and it was important to tell people what was happening.
09:11In other words, I experienced a double earthquake in that sense, first witnessing the destruction, then seeing people suffering, and
09:20that was what moved me the most.
09:28The tribute featured a special performance by the children of the youth orchestra, whose melodies comforted the grieving hearts of
09:34the Tellister staff, who had also suffered the loss of loved ones and close friends.
09:42It was a deeply emotional moment, personally and professionally.
09:47In situations like this, we worked twice as hard, both for our country, which shows incredible unity and solidarity, and

11:20term, President Gustavo Pedro returned Simón Bolívar's sword to the Quinta de Bolívar House Museum in Bogotá, its original home.

12:32According to BTG Nexus, 29% of Brazilian voters polled rank it as their number one issue.

12:43The federal government is spending 17 billion reais on public security this year.

13:24Progressive politicians support more funding for intelligence and prevention,

13:38Normally, the people who end up in jail have been the least important people in the criminal organizations.
13:45The police normally don't reach the top floor of the organized crime groups.
13:50This operation was a success because we were able to arrest people at the top of the system.
13:56The Flávio Bolsonaro campaign has announced a 10-point crime-fighting plan, which is primarily based on programs implemented by

14:04Governor Tarcísio de Freitas, who controls the São Paulo Military Police.
