00:00But you mentioned the David Gabriel George commitment,
00:03the number one running back in the country,
00:05so he's one of the best players in the country,
00:07and it was down between, you know, Ohio State
00:10and really, I think, Tennessee.
00:12He was going to high school at a prep school in Tennessee,
00:14but he's actually Canadian.
00:16He's from Montreal, like he's not even a, you know,
00:18he didn't grow up in America.
00:21But one of the best players you're going to find,
00:23him committing to Tennessee.
00:24I know that they went all in.
00:26You know, Ohio State was, you know, going after him very, very rigorously
00:30and pursuing him to the best of their ability.
00:33But you ultimately choose the volunteers.
00:35And so you look at the Josh Heupel era, Bill,
00:38and, like, you see this happen, and he goes there.
00:41This may save his job, or I don't know,
00:44if they maybe don't win enough.
00:45I'm not sure if Josh Heupel's there,
00:47but kind of your thoughts when you saw this commitment come down.
00:52Well, with him and there's another five-star running back in the class,
00:55there's now been 22 five-star running backs
00:57in the college football playoff era.
00:59So if you're going to pay that amount
01:02and if you're going to get a player of that caliber,
01:05I think the expectation is you should get at least 3,000 yards rushing
01:10in his career.
01:11There have been eight running backs, five-star running backs in the CFP era
01:14that have rushed for 3,000 yards or more.
01:16Those names are like Nick Chubb, Travion Henderson.
01:20John Robinson's actually the eighth-ranked running back.
01:22So you're, I would say, Bobby demanding that kind of production out of him.
01:28And had he gone to Ohio State, you know,
01:30Bo Jackson still would have been in the fold.
01:32I guess one thing with Tennessee, he will play right away.
01:34But the expectations on him, at least based on the recruitment
01:38and the reported value that he's going to bring,
01:41I mean, Leonard Fournette, that's like the bar right there.
01:46You have to have production like Leonard Fournette,
01:48who was, it wasn't always perfect for him at LSU either.
01:52Now, do you see this making, like, I guess you kind of answered that.
01:55Do you see this making a huge impact for Tennessee as in now
01:59they're in playoff conversations, now they have national championship hopes?
02:03Because, I mean, he is still a running back.
02:05There's a lot of value in a running back.
02:06But I feel like in college football now where it's kind of integrated more
02:09to the passing game and defense, is he really worth the money?
02:13Is he worth that $2 million a year, or is that kind of just wasting money
02:17because of just the position he's at?
02:19Well, I don't know.
02:21Yeah, I would lean towards no.
02:23Running back's probably not worth that when they're making more
02:26than some NFL running backs are making, which is absurd to me in some ways.
02:30But if it opens up that quarterback-friendly offense that Josh Heupel has
02:35in a different way, because when they get that thing rolling,
02:39you know, they had that the year with Hendon Hooker, right,
02:41where they were scoring close to 50 points per game.
02:44If they get that going, they could be a very dangerous team.
02:47But in terms of if this is the value for one recruit,
02:51you have to pick and choose.
02:52I mean, for Ohio State, I mean, yes, it's going to sting
02:56that you don't land a recruit like that,
02:58but it's not like another running back's not going to come along
03:01that wants to play at Ohio State that's four-star or more.
03:04Actually, it's kind of interesting to me that Steve Wilfong
03:08compared DGG to Quinshot Judkins,
03:11who you saw what he did in one season with Ohio State,
03:15where he was a productive tag team
03:17with a five-star running back, Travion Henderson.
03:20And I still believe that.
03:21I don't know about you guys,
03:22but I think you have to have two running backs in college.
03:25When you have that tag team running back tandem,
03:28it's better than just having one superstar at the position.
