00:26On July 24, 2005, the first Telesur broadcast aired from Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas,
00:32the date conceded with the brief anniversary of South American independence leaders in Montbolivar.
00:36It marked the realization of a vision shared by two Latin American leaders.

00:45It's founding leaders, Commander Hugo Chavez, who was president of Venezuela at the time,

01:33For us, it was a very difficult coverage, extremely difficult.

01:41not only for Central America, but for the entire continent.
01:45It was a very long and demanding coverage with intense and challenging moments.
01:51In 2026, the kidnapping of President Maduro in Venezuela was another event that,
01:56on January 3, woke us up and mobilized our entire new system

02:26I believe Telesur is a tool for reflection on what is happening on the planet, in the world.

02:37And if we do not have, for example, Telesur's interpretation of some of the events taking place,
02:44people would probably feel even more lost.
02:46So, I believe the interpretation Telesur provides of the different elements of reality is very useful.
02:57Telesur promotes peace, human rights, the self-determination of people, social justice,
03:01and Latin American and global self-integration.
