Watch as a school of fish finds an ingenious way to escape the scorching summer heat by gathering beneath the shade of an umbrella.

The remarkable scene was captured by Huo Da at West Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.

The video shows a person holding a large umbrella over the surface of the lake as temperatures soar to around 40°C.

Almost instantly, dozens of fish gather beneath the shaded patch of water, clustering tightly together to avoid the blazing sunlight.
