00:20The new tariffs are due to take effect on August 19th and will apply to products including wine, hockey sticks

00:28Carney described the US measures as unwarranted, saying Canada was stepping up trade talks with Washington while preparing to respond
00:35if necessary.
00:36In all circumstances, irrespective of the outcome of those negotiations, Canada will do whatever it takes to build our strength
00:45at home and to support Canadian families, workers, our farmers, our businesses. We're ready.
00:53The dispute follows Trump's decision earlier this month not to extend the United States-Mexico-Canada trade agreement.
