00:26Hello my friends, I hope you're all doing well.
00:30This is the first trip out I've made to do some filming and photography for myself in quite a while.
00:39The last couple of months have been really busy with workshops for the pelicans and what have you.
00:49And the last 10 days I've been sick as a dog with a horrible flu.
00:58And I'm just about trying to shake it off now.
01:01And I've come out the first lovely afternoon that we had in a while as well.
01:05It's been rather wet and miserable.
01:10And I've been amazingly lucky to find a wild cat, which is what I'm looking at right now.
01:22She's on the hunt.
01:27She's heard something.
01:29She's poised over a little rodent hole, a mouse hole, vol hole, and waiting.
01:43I'm having trouble focusing though because I'm shooting through grass here.
01:48It's also not the most ideal thing to try and film from the bean bag on the window.
01:58It's one thing to take stills like this.
02:05But filming is another matter.
02:08Getting a steady shot and then panning as well is really difficult.
02:16And usually ends up being a little bit jerky.
02:20But we'll see what I can get.
02:22I have at most half an hour of light left.
02:28And it looks absolutely stunning at the moment.
02:32So I'll stick with her for a while and see if she hunts.
02:40And hopefully she'll give me enough to put a little sequence together.
02:47So she'll be back with you in a little bit.
02:50OK, so there was a little bit of excitement there.
02:55She came stalking back up, back down the field towards me.
03:02Turned around again, heard something, hunted I think successfully,
03:06but I think she had her back turned to me for the kill.
03:12Then she heard something else came stalking around the back of the car.
03:18So I was at a really precarious angle as well, trying to get steady shots of her.
03:24And then she stalked right towards the camera successfully.
03:29Although she, it was all, I think, behind the grass.
03:36So I'm not sure, it all happened so quickly, I'm not sure what I got.
03:43Then she sat there for a while.
03:45I managed to get a few stills of her as well while she was there.
03:49And now she's gone back up to the top of the field, where I'm just waiting to see if she
03:54does anything else in the last few minutes of sunlight.
04:01So anyway, hopefully I have enough to put a little sequence together for you.
04:07I'm so, so happy to have got some footage of her, as I've had no luck over the last couple
04:15of months finding cats, wild cats.
04:19So this has been a fantastic afternoon, even if very brief.
04:29So, yeah, I'll show you those now.
