00:11Our responsibility is to make the UN relevant again,
00:16to deliver, to touch the hearts and souls of people on the ground,
00:20to serve people on the ground,
00:23and not to confuse activity with impact.
00:26Well, I believe moral authority is always needed.
00:30And you always need to speak out on the issues where violations of human rights have been,
00:34or where the violation of international law and humanitarian law is there.
00:40But, of course, you have to insist on finding ways to put people together.
00:46What we need to do is to restore this credibility of the UN as a valid interlocutor,
00:55and then use the tools at hand.
00:58I would like to see a UN that is back at the table in the scenarios of conflict.
01:04I would like to see a UN that has revealed trust,
01:08but has used that trust to deliver results on the ground.
01:12The UN must be more present, especially in the peace and security arena,
01:19that we would have moved from where we are today to a UN that is delivering better peace and security,
01:26both on the prevention side and ending of conflict side.
01:29Because in reality, global security, peace and stability is something that is incumbent on the Security Council,
01:37and the lack of trust between the members today, particularly between the permanent members,
01:43is that that means that crises go on without solutions being found.
