00:00America's national parks have never been more popular. Despite wildfires, staffing shortages,
00:06and other operational disruptions, the U.S. National Park Service reported 323 million
00:12recreational visits on its lands in 2025, with 26 sites setting visitation records.
00:19Now, with America's 250th birthday celebrations coming up, even bigger crowds are on the way.
00:26If you're willing to plan ahead and venture beyond the most Instagram-famous spots,
00:32you can still find quiet trails, incredible scenery, and moments that feel like you have the park all to yourself.
00:40Here are three tips to do just that. Great Smoky Mountains National Park on the Tennessee-North
00:47Carolina border is the most popular park in the entire system. Go there in the second half of
00:53October and into November, and you can still catch some lovely fall foliage without as many
00:59fellow visitors. The best time to check out Joshua Tree National Park is from mid-January to early
01:05February. Winter days average around 60 degrees Fahrenheit, and the spring break crowds haven't
01:11arrived in the California desert yet. Mid-September through early October are a sweet spot for
01:16Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. Elk enter their annual rut during this period, and visitors often
01:23encounter less traffic around Old Faithful, one of the world's most famous geysers. These are some of the
01:30most beautiful spots in the U.S. With planning, you can find your own serene corner of the great outdoors.
