00:00I'm a designer and color consultant living in Hudson, New York, and I'm excited to welcome you
00:04to my sweet digs. I live here with my husband and our very sweet basset hound. We pay $3,000
00:10a month
00:10for a two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment with a private backyard. When you walk through the front
00:16door, you're greeted by this long hallway that leads to the kitchen and dining area. This room
00:21gets so much light, so it feels really cool to walk from the darker part of the hallway in the
00:27house and go into this bright, colorful oasis. The dining room is obviously where we eat, but
00:33admittedly, I work from this table a lot. The lighting is just so great in here. The living
00:38room is where I actually do most of my work, though. As a color consultant, I find it really
00:42important to lean into the emotional side of color, and orange really just makes me feel good. I
00:50actually painted the room orange before I found this orange painting, but this painting is one of
00:56my favorite finds. I found it at an antique shop here in Hudson. We moved back through the hallway,
01:00and that's where you'll find the guest room slash my husband's office. This room is definitely much
01:05more of a work in progress. We have some color in here. We match the window trim to the minty
01:12green
01:12color in the rug, and I just love the mustard from the curtains, too. Our bathroom has a bit of
01:18a
01:18different feel from the other rooms in the house. This room gets no natural light, so originally we had
01:24painted it a very vibrant green, and with the overhead lighting from the light fixtures, it just
01:30wasn't looking right, so we ended up going with something a little moodier. This is a very delicious
01:37berry color. I swapped out the original light fixtures with these that feel way more in our style,
01:43and I also changed our shower head. This is one of my favorite parts of the bathroom. Our bedroom has
01:49a bold color move in it. I always wanted to paint our bedroom a very bright yellow, and I know
01:56that
01:56this is a very intense color, but I see my space as a space for experimentation, so my husband and
02:02I
02:02painted a sliver of the room in this yellow, and we're living with it. We're going to see how it
02:07feels,
02:07and I think that's what home is all about. Just play around, experiment, and see what works for you.
