00:00Hi guys, my name's Robbie. Welcome to My Sweet Digs. Come on in.
00:05One thing you should know about my apartment is that I've spent the last six months renovating.
00:09It's an Art Deco two-bedroom apartment in Bellevue Hill.
00:15So the layout of my apartment has changed a little bit since I bought it
00:20because I decided to knock down the wall that was dividing the kitchen and the living space.
00:25I think that has created a nice continuity throughout my apartment.
00:30I pay a mortgage every week. I could rent it out for $900 per week.
00:36So I live in Bellevue Hill. It's a really beautiful neighbourhood.
00:39Everything is in walking distance for me, which I love.
00:42Up the road is my favourite bakery and coffee shop.
00:46I also have a friendly grocer and somewhere to get my nails done.
00:50I also have Bondi, which is just down the road.
00:52I really was drawn to Parisian, even Scandinavian apartments and mid-century modern furniture.
01:00I've combined all three and created my own little style.
01:04One of my favourite things are my Italian Seska chairs.
01:08I actually found them on Instagram and instantly fell in love with them.
01:12So I bought a set.
01:13Behind me is a really beautiful print by Jakey Pedro.
01:18He's actually a local artist from Bondi Beach.
01:21I've been modelling for almost eight years now.
01:25I think it's really important after a long day on set, knowing exactly what I'm coming home to.
01:30A tidy house. And yeah, it's my little sanctuary.
01:34So these are real timber, herringbone floors.
01:38A bit of an investment, just over $7,000.
01:41They are worth it. They're beautiful.
01:43And I feel like they brighten up the whole apartment.
01:45This was actually a door to the study when I first bought this apartment.
01:51But I decided to make a little storage cupboard and also use it as a little bookshelf.
01:56And put all my, like, knickknacks on.
01:58I really love sitting here and reading my book.
02:02It catches so much light.
02:03And it's actually really cosy and comfortable.
02:05Might not look it, but it is.
02:08Now let me show you my kitchen. Come with me.
02:11So welcome to my kitchen, my happy place.
02:14I love cooking and spending a lot of time in here.
02:18So my kitchen looked completely different, completely renovated the whole thing.
02:23A lot of the images I had saved were from a Parisian apartment.
02:27And they all had the butler's sink.
02:30I've paired it back with an Art Deco tapware.
02:33This is marble and it's called Arabescato.
02:37I went to a marble warehouse and got to pick from all these different slabs.
02:42And I fell in love with this one straight away.
02:44It's beautiful, but I must say that it's really hard to maintain.
02:48Like, you can't even squeeze lemon on it because the acid will burn through.
02:52It also ended up matching my fridge perfectly.
02:55I really love the retro feel it has.
02:58I was super happy with the freestanding oven paired back with the canopy.
03:03In regards to styling tips, start creating mood boards.
03:08Grabbing inspiration from all different websites.
03:11Bringing them together and just playing around with different colours and different styles.
03:16And seeing what works best with you and also the space that you have to work with.
03:20I think my next dream home might be a little terrace.
03:24Having a little outdoor space where I can plant my little herbs and flowers.
03:29I love to entertain and have people over for dinner parties and around for a drink.
03:34So I really love it that I can be cooking and my guests can be sitting here at the dinner
03:38table.
03:39And we can always be interacting with one another.
03:42I'm going to take you now to my favourite part of my apartment.
03:46My bedroom. Come.
03:48It's just filled with light as you can see.
03:52There's actually no sleeping in here for me.
03:54That's why I keep a little eye mask.
03:57The bed head I bought from Barossa and it was $800.
04:02I've kept it quite minimal with a lamp and candles and all my jewellery.
04:07Because I've kept it quite neutral in here.
04:09The burst of green and the mustard really worked well together.
04:13It just feels really cosy and it's like my safe place.
04:17Finding this apartment was not an easy process as I was on every website and also going to so
04:24many open homes every Thursday, every Saturday.
04:28One real estate agent wanted to show me before putting it on the market.
04:32I really liked it and saw potential in it.
04:35So I put my best bid forward and I was lucky enough to buy it before options.
04:41One thing I wanted to do was open this room up a little bit more.
04:46I wanted to make the study into a walking wardrobe.
04:50These are all customised shelving.
04:53It was a real struggle to get these into this space.
04:57I feel sorry for the joinery team.
04:59I'm in the fashion industry.
05:01So clothes, shoes and accessories are a huge part of my life.
05:05I'm definitely obsessed with buying bags.
05:09I think my favourite purchase is my Chanel bag.
05:14She's my little precious one.
05:15I actually bought her with the very first big job I landed.
05:20Yeah, she's a goodie and will always be treasured.
05:24So in my bathroom I've decided to keep a few features that came with the original style.
05:31Like this beautiful art deco mirror and also the chandelier.
05:35I've also added a few new features like this sage rendered wall.
05:40And this is a new vanity.
05:42I thought the timber worked really well with the green and the black and white.
05:46There's always hiccups with renovating.
05:49And I now can't put the original door back onto this bathroom because the vanity is too big.
05:57So I love my skincare.
05:59These are definitely my essential products.
06:02And this cupboard right here, if we open it up, it will be full of skincare and creams and perfumes.
06:10And yeah, a girl's dream.
06:12So in here there's all my necessities.
06:15Like my washing machine or my linen.
06:19And if I have anything messy and dirty, I can just stick it behind these doors and hide it.
06:25So this is the second bedroom.
06:27I had a new built-in wardrobe installed with a little study nook.
06:32I use it mainly as storage and also it's a good place for my friends to come and stay in.
06:39It gets really nice natural light in here and you can also see the water.
06:44It was difficult to live in the apartment whilst it was being renovated.
06:50It was just full of dust and nowhere to put my furniture at all.
06:53It was a journey and a long process.
06:57All in all, I'm really happy with the end product and I would do it again in a heartbeat
07:02because I've created something that I love and I'm proud of.
07:07All in all, I'm really happy with the end product and I'm happy with the end product and I'm happy
07:10with the end product and I'm happy with the end product and I'm happy with the end product and I'm
07:10happy with the end product and I'm happy with the end product and I'm happy with the end product and
07:10I'm happy with the end product and I'm happy with the end product and I'm happy with the end product
07:10and I'm happy with the end product and I'm happy with the end product.
