00:00Hi, my name is Basra and welcome to My Sweet Digs.
00:03Fun fact about my apartment is that it's actually converted from a big Victorian style house.
00:12So I've been living in Lewisham for almost a year. I found this apartment online
00:16and I pay $3.90 a week. Lewisham is in the inner west of Sydney. It's a very small suburb,
00:22very quiet. It is similar to where I was living before. Honestly, the only reason I picked it was
00:27because of this place, this apartment. It's similar to the one I used to live in with my family in
00:33Melbourne. It has high ceilings and big windows. The layout in here is like a studio kind of,
00:39but because I can kind of close the middle door to create a separate space between the bedroom
00:44and the living room, I really like that I can do that. My favorite part of my home is probably
00:49my
00:49bedroom just because I do spend a lot of time in here. So this is my bedroom. I love that
00:54it has
00:55big windows and I also love the fireplace as well. This space also has lots of color,
01:01which I love, but I also make sure that it doesn't feel cluttered just because I feel like it's hard
01:06for me to think when there's too much stuff going on. I feel like this is the right balance of
01:09color,
01:10but like very neat at the same time. Since I don't have a walk-in closet or like a built
01:14-in wardrobe,
01:15this is pretty much what works for me. I just have clothing racks and shoe racks to put my stuff
01:20on.
01:20So these two racks I found right in front of my door outside. Most of these shoes I didn't buy
01:26myself. They were mostly like sent to me or gifted, but I do love sneakers. So my job is content
01:33creation,
01:33mostly fashion and beauty. So this is where I sit when I'm either doing my makeup or replying to emails.
01:40I found this on Facebook marketplace and this applied. I did paint this myself, but I didn't do a good
01:46job.
01:46My side table is basically two crates that I put on top of each other. And this is actually a
01:52chopping board
01:52that I got from Ikea. And it just makes a cute little side table because my space matches also
01:59my fashion. I do film a lot of my content here, but I do also go outside. So these two
02:04mirrors are
02:05probably one of my favorite items that I have in here. This was thrifted and I just painted it myself.
02:11And this one was gifted to me by a local designer and it's stunning. I love them both. And it
02:17just
02:18makes the space feel even bigger. This bath, like the rest as well, is thrifted. I feel like with
02:24thrifting, you can find really unique pieces, which you wouldn't be able to find otherwise. The atmosphere
02:29that I want to create in my home is a very chill and very bright, but like a lot of
02:35pretty space. I do
02:36like to wear a lot of colorful clothes and I think that reflects a lot in my space. So this
02:41is my
02:41kitchen. It's very, very small, but I don't cook that much, so it doesn't really bother me. I do wish
02:46that I had more counter space, but it's functional, so it's okay. So this is my living room. It's a
02:52little
02:52bit small, but I love color and I feel like that reflects in my space. That's my cat Bunny. I've
02:59had
02:59in for about six months. This table is actually from Ikea. So the chairs, I just painted it myself
03:05just so it can be more my style. I don't really have a favorite color. And so I try to
03:11incorporate
03:12like every color that I can think of into my space. If I can change the color or something,
03:18like I do like to like paint over it myself, just so it matches me more. This is my greatest
03:25find.
03:26I found this at the thrift store, walked in and amongst all these black and brown couches,
03:31I saw the green one and I was like, I have to have this. I felt like I was going
03:34to regret it
03:34if I left it behind. So I bought it. It has lots of scratches and my cat contributed to some,
03:40but I love it. I always buy fresh flowers every week. My mom thinks I spend too much money on
03:45them,
03:45but I love this table. I found this on Marketplace for like $20, I think in my next dream home.
03:52I really like high ceilings, but I also want to have a proper bathroom with double sink.
03:59The advice that I would give to other people living in small spaces is to get lots of mirrors
04:03because it does really help make the space feel a little bit bigger.
