00:11Let's get started.
06:53This year, we are simplifying things in our house.
07:26Normally, we like to travel.
07:28Get in touch with our family and get in touch with our family values and hunker down and
07:32watch some movies, maybe go on some long walks in Austin and around the lake and just, you
07:38know, be, have some good family time.
08:08I love that.
08:10And just enjoying each other, you know, it's just, you know, you know, you know, you know, you're
08:51gonna have some Violence and it's, you know, you're up in the Levi's, you know, I'm doing what's
09:10technology. So we'll make it fun. We'll probably wear fun PJs and, you know, just kind of see what
09:16all the kids get and really just make this really about them. I love the opening of the presents
09:22with the kids and the cousins. I think I'm probably going to miss that, you know, when there's just a
09:27big mess of wrapping paper everywhere and everyone's just distracted and playing. But definitely
09:33something to try to accomplish on Zoom. I'm wondering, you know, as we move in to, you know,
09:42this holiday season and thinking about the movie, The Christmas Doctor, Dr. Zoe found herself not at
09:50home for the holiday season, but really adapted pretty quickly with the help of the people from
09:55the town with decorating and cooking, learning recipes that she never knew how to do before.
10:01Cyn, I'm wondering, you know, as a designer, what do you think helps make a place feel like home?
10:09Well, for me, like, I love the glow. I love that in the movie that, like, they decorated her rental
10:15house because that's absolutely what I would do. Like, for me, holiday glow, the lights, the Christmas
10:20tree. I also really love crafting and making handmade things. So adding decor to my house that I make
10:27that I usually craft up while watching movies or whatever is basically, that's like, that's my jam.
10:33It's really just making home decor and just having a really nice glow.
10:36I love that. A nice little glow. I've got twinkle lights here and it's definitely making me feel festive.
10:44Jen, what about you?
10:46You know, for me, as long as I have a really good book, I can make anywhere I feel like
10:51home.
10:51I really think that having those kind of comforts and a good blanket and just somewhere to, you know,
10:57curl up makes me feel like I can create my own home, I guess, and kind of go anywhere.
11:06I love that. It's so cozy to cozy with a book in a nook. You remind me, my sister has
11:12this cute little
11:13book nook and her husband built her. And it's just the most sweetest little thing. And, you know,
11:19you're right. Jump into a book and you can be wherever you want to be.
11:23Absolutely.
11:25Steph, what about you? What helps me make a place feel like home?
11:31Honestly, I feel like anywhere where my family is. You know, my husband, he says it all the time,
11:37like, as long as we're together, we're good, you know? And so I think, you know, just us being
11:42together is enough. So I think that's what makes it feel the most like home when we're all together.
11:50Absolutely. Quality time, being with the people that you love. It's so important. I'm curious,
11:58you know, as we are moving into the holiday season, we were talking about before we joined the live,
12:03you know, just getting ready to be full-fledged holiday season. We were ready months ago, quite
12:08frankly. But when is the right time or when is an appropriate time to start listening to Christmas
12:14music? I know this can be controversial, but let us know. Let me know what you think. Steph,
12:20I'll start with you.
12:22I feel like whenever the mood strikes, like I'm known to play Mariah Carey like summertime, you know,
12:28like if I'm feeling like I need a little pick me up, all I want for Christmas is you is
12:34playing,
12:34you know, could be July 100 degrees in Dallas and it'll play. So I mean, whenever the mood strikes
12:40for me, so, you know, it's never too early. Jen, what about you? We're house divided because half of
12:49us in the house are like traditional, like after Thanksgiving, all of the stuff and decor comes
12:54out. And that's when we watch the movies and have all the music. And the other half of us are
13:01like
13:02ready. Like my son, as soon as we were taking down the Halloween decorations, he was in the attic
13:07pulling out all of, you know, the Christmas decorations and the holiday music. And he's
13:12watched all three home alums like multiple times already. So I, you know, I, I'm more in the
13:18traditional, like let's wait for Thanksgiving things in their place. But I mean, especially now,
13:23I think that we just need to be able to celebrate throughout. So I think especially now, like all rules
13:30should go out the door and whatever makes you feel good. And if you want to blast that music,
13:34go for it.
13:37I agree. I'm very much like an early in the season person, but right now I'm like anytime,
13:42anything that makes you feel good, lean into it. And what about you?
13:47I'm with Jen Sun. The day after Halloween, I love the Christmas music. I'm all about it.
13:54I'll probably be sure to listen it to it. Probably till Valentine's Day. It's fine. I'm totally out
14:01the window. I'm totally team. Whatever brings you joy, do it. And I love some good Christmas music.
14:07Yeah, same. And you know what, there's just so many different types of Christmas music that you
14:11really can't get bored. You can really go in any direction with it. I love it. So I'm curious,
14:19you know, honoring past holiday traditions and starting our own, right? So for, for me, you know,
14:26this year is obviously very different, but I, I have a family tradition of going Christmas tree cutting
14:48and it looks like we're having a little technical, a little technical. Give us a second. There we go.
14:58I had a little technical. Hello. Christmas tree. Um, you do you get a tree? Yes. Thank you, Jen. Yes.
15:08So we go Christmas tree cutting every year and that's our family tradition. And it grew from just
15:13cutting a Christmas tree to having Christmas brunch. And then we have a dinner and it became
15:18this whole thing. And I think this year we'll have to evolve it. We'll have to change it. Um,
15:22we'll be, we'll definitely be social distancing. I think we'll just go to cut the trees from afar,
15:27but I'm curious, you know, how, how are you guys finding ways to honor past holiday traditions or
15:34maybe start your own Jen? What, what are you guys doing, especially staying at home this year?
15:40Yeah, I think for us, it'll be a whole new kind of, it will be a new holiday. We're still
15:46going to be
15:46celebrating in a similar manner. Um, we are probably going to see my brother and my sister-in-law and
15:52usually there's a big Christmas Eve with my, um, brother and sister-in-law. And then we host
15:57cause they have four kids. And then Christmas day is usually at our house and we are all getting
16:02tested and all the stuff that we need to do nowadays. Um, and so we'll probably keep those
16:07traditions, but you know, the big thing that I've, that has really hit home for me is simplifying.
16:15And so it's again, like getting back to what my family really wants, what might listen to really
16:23in tune with the kids. It's going to be a lot less of presence and more about experiences. And so
16:29we've
16:29been talking a lot with them about what they want to make. You know, my, I have one, two readers
16:34now,
16:34my middle one is, um, starting to read chapter books. So it's fun to go through recipes with them
16:40and have them decide what they want to make and read through it. And so it's been really fun,
16:46just kind of simplifying and getting back to basics instead of like, we're going to have this massive
16:52Christmas with presents. And, you know, cause it's not so much, it's not so fun shopping right now.
16:56It's a different experience in a different world. And, you know, everyone's kind of buckling down our
17:01economies in a funky place. So we're really just trying to really hone in on that connection with our
17:07family and just, you know, really, really kind of let the kids decide too, and let them be in charge.
17:14Normally Jared and I, my husband and I are, you know, dictating what we're going to do and just
17:18sort of set the tone. And I think this year we're really going to listen to the kids and make
17:24it a
17:24magical Christmas in that way and really just connect and read and do fun activities together.
17:31I love that. And I, the time and energy that, you know, it takes to plan all of the holidays.
17:37Sometimes we get a little bit lost in, you know, spending that quality time with each other and
17:42really sitting down and having that individualized one-on-one time and conversation. So, you know,
17:48it sounds like, you know, we're, you know, glass half full looking for silver lining and looking for
17:54that deeper connection. That's so, it makes me happy holidays, all the good fun, the butterflies.
18:01I love it. Finn, what about you? What, um, what are you, uh, you know, what are you doing for
18:08tradition?
18:09My family really goes like all out decorating. I mean, Wesley's family as well. So like,
18:15I basically did that in our house. I have two Christmas trees in our tiny apartment, full Christmas trees.
18:20Uh, so I went all out with the decorations. I just wanted to be like in a home that felt
18:24super festive.
18:26Another thing that we've been doing, um, for our holidays this year and it's back to music,
18:30me and my husband had been working on like a, our Christmas playlist and we'll, we'll start the day
18:35with that and then we'll keep adding songs as the day goes. And so it's really nice to play it
18:39every day
18:39and then continue to just keep on adding songs. That's been like a fun little thing that we, um,
18:44started doing back at like Halloween. And so, uh, now we're doing the same thing for Christmas.
18:48It's just a fun little tradition we started. Oh, I love that. And I also love that you have
18:54two Christmas trees in your apartment. That's fantastic. I could use a little bit of your
19:00design expertise around here. And Steph, what about you? No, for us, um, something we always have done
19:10is a Christmas Eve breakfast or brunch. Um, so it'll be modified this year. It'll just be, um,
19:16our little family, but you know, the kids are already looking forward to it and talking about
19:20it. Um, we, I make, make French toast cups, um, and it's like a little French toast dish that they
19:26love. And so, you know, the kids will be helping with that. Um, and then with a newborn, I'm just
19:32looking forward to, I haven't figured out like what I want to do new with her, but, um, I do
19:37want to
19:38incorporate some new traditions, you know, now that we have a new member of the family. So, um, you know,
19:43doing some things that we've done in the past, but then also looking for ways to incorporate our
19:48new, new little one, um, you know, and making it special for her too. I love that. I think it's
19:55so
19:55fun when a family, you know, new family, you know, or a family that has been growing for a while
20:02creates unique traditions that are your own, um, that are just special to you that your kids grow up
20:09with. And then they kind of pass that along. There's something so, I don't know, there's just
20:15something so dynamic and so original about like, that's our tradition. This is what we do in our
20:20house. I think it's so special that you get to set that tone for someone for a family. So I
20:26think
20:26that's so exciting with a new little girl around. So excited. I love it. So in terms of the holiday
20:35season,
20:36a big, important part of the holidays is eating. And something that I think that we can all look
20:44forward to is, you know, eating our, you know, favorite meals, but also favorite meals that we
20:50have put a twist on. I know myself, I actually have a broccoli casserole recipe that I actually use
20:57Campbell's cream of mushroom soup. My cousin taught me how to do it, my cousin Kathy, and she is like
21:03the head of our Thanksgiving. And so I learned it from her. And now I've made it my own. And
21:09it has
21:10tons of Ritz crackers, and just a little bit of butter, you know, just a, just a touch of butter.
21:16And I really made it my own. And it's now become this bit and lots of cheese actually too. So
21:21guys,
21:21if you want the recipe, it hit me up. Because it has become my favorite thing to make for Thanksgiving.
21:27And it's funny, because it wasn't my recipe to start with, I kind of just kept tinkering and making it
21:32my
21:32own. I'm curious. And I know, Steph, you actually have a really cool evolution of a green bean casserole.
21:41Yes. So it all started one year. My family, we were like, let's do a Cajun Christmas. Like,
21:49let's, let's spice up the turkey. Let's add some Cajun seasoning to everything. Add some seafood, mix it
21:56up. And so, you know, ever since then, we've done a Cajun green bean casserole, which is basically,
22:05it's your traditional green bean casserole, but there's just a lot of extra seasonings.
22:09And it tastes amazing. And of course, using the Campbell's mushroom soup, and then all of our
22:16dishes just have a little Cajun twist to it. So like, if you do dressing, you know, adding scallops,
22:22and shrimp, and lobster, and a lot of Cajun seasoning. And it's, it's really good. It's a good time.
22:28So we love it. But yeah. Sounds delicious. Yes. When this is all over, I'm coming to your house.
22:39I'm on over. My husband makes a great Cajun turkey. So you know, we go all out. I love it.
22:45I love it.
22:46What about you, Cyn? What are, you know, what are some traditions, some dishes that you're looking
22:52forward to? Well, one, I love putting bacon on my green bean casserole, a little crispy bacon on top.
22:58It's really good. But I'm actually Cuban. So we do tamales. So we make, the tamales will be made
23:05this year. We start them on Christmas Eve. And my grandma and my mom taught me how to make these
23:10years
23:11ago. And then we all eat them on Christmas at our lunch. So yeah, we did we do the tamale
23:17thing.
23:17And I love it. We do it every year. Oh, my gosh, that sounds like a great tradition, too,
23:22for everyone to be making them together. I love that. Jen, what about you?
23:28That's so funny. My husband also their family does it on Christmas Eve, they get tamales. And they have
23:34this special spot in San Antonio. And my husband's dad always brings them up. And I never had a tamale
23:39family until I met my husband. So we actually celebrate the same way. And it's funny. My husband
23:44was working and filming in Vancouver for the last 15 years. And one year, we were in I had the
23:52kids in
23:53Seattle, and we were in Seattle. And we were there for Christmas, because that's when my son was born.
23:59And I had to look everywhere. I was too nervous to attempt cooking them. So I was looking for like
24:04the top like tamale maker in town. And I had to like order them weeks in advance, because everyone
24:08already thought of this idea. And it was, I had to like search all over Seattle to like find the
24:13right tamales and make sure that it was like up to par with my father in law. And it's so
24:18fun. It's so
24:19it was such an interesting tradition. So it's funny that that's woven into our family too now. And
24:24it's something I look forward to every year. Oh, I love that. And you're gonna have to like share the
24:30family recipe with Jen. No, you're gonna have to teach me. They change to different nationalities
24:37have their own tamales. So it's fun. So you can have all kinds of different kinds. Like
24:41cumin tamales are made one way. And so kind of fun. That's awesome. Yeah, I need to learn more about
24:46it.
24:49Well, we definitely all have a little bit more time than we used to right now.
24:54For sure. I love it. It's definitely Yeah, I love Oh my gosh, I love tamales. I feel like I
25:01I'm
25:01Italian. So we have very like Italian dishes around the holidays and Feast of the Seven Fish. But I
25:06always just want to like passport to other people's holidays because I'm just so in love with other
25:11cultures and other foods that I'm just like, Can I just have a plate from everybody else's family's
25:17holiday? Yeah. Get a little variety. So and speaking of actually, you know, the Feast of the Seven Fish,
25:26right? So that's what my family does. And it's going to be very different this year. I'm, you know,
25:30I'm not sure how we're going to come together. Maybe it's going to be a big zoom. Maybe we all
25:35are zooming eating a different type of fish. Maybe I'll spice it up and order sushi, who can say what's
25:40actually going to happen this year for our fest our festivities. But I think bringing the feeling of home
25:47to those you love, but you can't be with is something I've been thinking about a lot in particular this
25:52year, whether it's, you know, I have a friend who sends me postcards all year, really, really fun,
25:59random postcards. And that's just a really sweet way of bringing, you know, sending me a piece of
26:05home because I haven't seen her in so long. So I'm curious, you know, with this year being as
26:11interesting and as unique as it's been, you know, how can we share the feeling of home with those
26:18that we love? Sin, what is something that you're doing this season?
26:28Oh, there we go. Here, let me try again. Sin, did you hear? Is there a way that you are
26:34bringing
26:34the feeling of home to those you love this holiday season? It's so funny you mentioned
26:41cards because, or postcards. We, I, this is a year I told my husband, I was like, you know,
26:45it's so easy to get distracted as the holiday season comes and you don't always get your Christmas
26:48cards out. And I was like, we are doing Christmas cards this year. Like, I think it's so important.
26:52And I even want to try to do like little notes for everyone, you know, sometimes just do like the
26:56generic card and post the thing. But I want to probably do something more personal for everyone,
27:00just so people feel really connected since we had a lot of that like, you know, time in person.
27:05So I'm for sure doing holiday cards. And I'm going to really try to make them more personalized this
27:10year to make people feel a little extra loved and seen, you know? Yeah, definitely making people feel
27:18really seen this year, even from afar. That's so sweet. Steph, what about you?
27:24So I would say for sure, you know, that's something I want to do this year too,
27:28Christmas cards, especially with the new edition and she can't meet, you know,
27:32everyone that she would normally meet if we weren't, you know, in these conditions.
27:35But then also this will be the first Christmas that I haven't spent with my grandmother. So,
27:42you know, she usually travels to see us and, you know, obviously this year that just isn't going to
27:48happen. So lots of FaceTime, you know, lots of just trying to stay connected through just, you know,
27:56doing whatever we can virtually. Um, so a little bit of that, you know, especially since things are
28:02just going to be different. It'll be a lot smaller, a lot cozier, smaller, you know, group, you know,
28:07in person, but still trying to stay very connected to the ones that we don't get to see in person
28:12that
28:13we normally wouldn't see. Yes. I, I usually make a Christmas calendar for my parents every year,
28:20and it's all of our family photos, but we don't have any from this year. So I have FaceTime,
28:26I have FaceTime, like taking photos of all of us over FaceTime. And so I'm not spoiling it because
28:33they know, because I was asking for their photos as well. But basically I'm like collaging together
28:38the year that was of 2020, you know, because that's what we have. That's what we have.
28:45Jen, what about you? What, what's, what's on the docket for you? I think that, I mean,
28:50the, you know, connecting is the biggest thing. We can't see each other. So it's just figuring out
28:54those ways to, to connect with others and also make them feel special. Um, and you know, at our home,
29:00we've been doing a lot of cooking and a lot of baking. And, um, my aunt has this amazing biscotti
29:06recipe and I have hijacked it and we send tins to people, um, as a Christmas gift. So I think
29:14we'll
29:14probably be doing the same thing and just baking. And my kids are at that great stage with crafting.
29:19Um, and not like the crafts that you're like, Oh gosh, I don't want to hang this on my wall,
29:23but like fun, like cute thing. Um, you know, like cups and like, you know, cards that are beyond like,
29:31just like sweets, Christmas stuff and meaningful. Like I can write like notes and that sort of things.
29:37And, um, so, you know, I think we're going to be doing a lot of that this year. Um, I
29:41might steal
29:41your calendar idea cause I think that's great too. Um, but you know, just like ways in which
29:47you can let someone know that you're thinking of them. I mean, I love the postcard idea too. And just
29:51like with the personalized notes and just really letting people know that they're thought of, I think we
29:56all are kind of isolated and not able to see each other. And gosh, I mean, I think I had
30:02lunch with
30:02a girlfriend recently and it was the first time in months and months and months, and you don't
30:07realize how much you miss that interaction with others and that connection. And I think we're all
30:14like really starving for that. And so any way that we can branch that bridge that gap and really, you
30:20know, show someone the love and let them know that, you know, we love them and we're thinking of them.
30:24So I don't know. I, I definitely feel like a handwritten note is, goes a long, long way.
30:30And, um, so I'm sure we'll be doing lots of those with our cards and cookies and this guy.
30:36Oh, I love that. Absolutely. Any, any way that you can show someone that you're thinking about them,
30:41whether through a card or sending them sweet treats, like it, you know,
30:45when it's not a bill coming in the mail, I am so happy.
30:50I love receiving it. Anything that's not, you know, mailers and bills, I'm here for it.
30:56I know. Seriously. We also, um, we got some, we have bees in our backyard. We have a couple of
31:02hives
31:03that we've grown and, um, we are hoping to harvest the honey. I don't, it's, we'll see how the weather
31:09holds up, if we can do that or not. But sometimes we like to give that out as well for
31:13Christmas
31:14gifts and a little jar of, of honey. That's so cool. That is so cool. Oh my gosh. Like personalized
31:21honey. It's pretty neat. Yeah. It's kind of fun, especially now because you're like, here,
31:26here, a spoonful of honey guys. Um, so yeah. Yeah. Everyone could, everyone could use a little street
31:32and showing some love to the bees is important. Yeah. We need to, we need to be watching out for
31:38these
31:38bees guys. We have to take care of the bees. So for this year, I am looking to you all
31:46for some
31:47inspiration. So when it comes to the holidays, it's usually a very big get dressed up holiday,
31:52right? Holiday parties and office parties and all of the like. But this year we've been indoors a lot
31:58and everyone's getting very, very comfy cozy. So I'm wondering, are we going full out holiday decor
32:03and dressing? Are we keeping it cozy and keeping it simple? I'm going to start with you Steph,
32:09because I know you know all about living in style, but this question is for me and me alone. I
32:14need
32:14inspiration. I'm going to be Zoom ready. So like, I'm going to be like dressed. Like I'm dressed right
32:26now, but I definitely have on house shoes. So like I'm, I'm glam, but I'm comfortable. And that's the
32:33vibe, you know? So, um, that'll be how I keep it going throughout the holiday. I love to dress up,
32:41but at the same time, like I'm not going to be walking around my house in uncomfortable shoes.
32:44So, you know, I'll be, I'll be dressed. I'll have my makeup done. I'm sure. Um,
32:53but I'll definitely be pretty cozy from the waist down.
32:58I love that. I love it. Is this going to be a new way to, you know, identify attire for
33:03everyone?
33:04Like Zoom ready attire.
33:06Yeah, exactly.
33:07You're ready to go up here.
33:09I love that. And Jen was saying, right, you can't walk around with the heels and the baby.
33:13It's too much.
33:15It's a lot.
33:16I've got to pick one.
33:17I tell her.
33:19And what about you? What's the, what's the plan? Are you going to go comfy cozy or a little shine?
33:25I think probably similar where, you know, the comfy shoes are probably always a good thing,
33:30but I don't, I also feel like when you're able to dress up and I don't know, it's somehow,
33:35it's like when you have a good mood, like when you can put positivity out there, you feel better.
33:39And I feel like sometimes when you can put that outfit on, it's almost like, you know, this layer
33:44that just sort of helps, you know, with your mood too. And I, I, I mean, I'm always here for
33:49an outfit,
33:49so I will dress up, you know, give me a holiday and, and I, I will throw it, I will
33:54throw it down.
33:55So I, I'm always, you know, especially now it's, I'm, I'm always looking for something to dress up
34:01for and be festive with, you know, for. And so I, I think it's a great time to dress up
34:06and have fun.
34:07So I will definitely rock a red lip, even if I'm in a comfy cozy, I will be wearing a
34:13red lip inspired by you.
34:18I will, I will. And then what about you? I feel like decoration. Yes, yes, yes. But what about dressing?
34:27Um, I'm pop. So my decorations are over the top, but I will probably stay very cozy.
34:31I will probably try to reel in my husband to try to do like some kind of matching Christmas pajamas.
34:37Um, just bringing all the cheese factor in, um, and just probably stay in like Christmas PJs all day.
34:43Yeah. Um, but yeah, I, I just, I'm team, I'm team cozy this year. I'm team cozy all the way.
34:50Um, we used to go to like, you know, big Christmas parties and get all dressed up and, and it
34:54was so fun.
34:55But I feel like there's something really sweet about snuggling up in something comfy and staying in it all day.
35:00And, you know, eating, drinking, watching the movies, opening the gifts. So I'm gonna be team cozy this year.
35:07I love that. I have the like most special memory of cozying up on the couch with my mom, my
35:15sister and her now husband.
35:17And we were just watching a show before we really binge watching was the thing.
35:22And we ate all of the leftover berry pie, all of just, we just crushed it, just the four of
35:29us.
35:30And we just, the whole day and my dad came home. He's like, what'd you do? And we're like, this
35:33is it.
35:33This is, this is what we did.
35:36It was the day after I think Thanksgiving, maybe, and it was just so fun. And I'll just,
35:41you know, comfy, cozy PJs and pie.
35:47Fantastic. It's the holiday spirit to a tree. So when it comes to, you know, the holiday season
35:54and spreading holiday cheer and holiday spirit, I feel like I am talking to the absolute right people.
35:59You're in the right frame of mind, caring about others and making sure other people feel
36:04seen and appreciated. But also during this time of year, how do we make sure that we're taking care
36:10of ourselves and giving ourselves a little bit of holiday cheer? I think so often, you know, we can
36:16be so worried about making sure that everybody else is taken care of that we almost sometimes zap our
36:22Christmas spirit and maybe forget that we're in it too. So I'm curious, you know, and I'll start with
36:28you, Jen, you know, what are you doing to give yourself some holiday cheer?
36:33You know, I think the biggest gift you can give yourself is just some time to yourself and really
36:39listening to what you need. And I love the saying about putting your oxygen mask on first, because
36:45until you take care of yourself, you really can't take care of everybody else. So I think it's a good
36:51time to be self indulgent. And I that sounds kind of like, it's a negative. And I think it's, I
37:01think
37:01it's just part of self care. And especially right now, when there's so many demands with the holidays,
37:06and I feel like a lot of pressure is put on, you know, you to do the right thing and
37:11have the perfect
37:12house and the hosting and whatever, you know, I think now's the time. And especially, you know,
37:18now I think it's about slowing down. So, you know, I'm really into taking long walks alone.
37:25I'm into taking a time out. Maybe that means going in your closet with a glass of wine and,
37:31you know, just like doing a breathing exercise. Maybe that's like, you know, I'm just gonna go out and
37:38I'm gonna, you know, just take a breather somewhere, go to a bookstore alone, or even go to,
37:43you know, dinner alone, or, you know, have a social distance, whatever. And I think it's just really
37:49important to listen to yourself and your needs and, and simplifying that. And I think it's just now more
37:56than ever, it's really important to do so and not be apology, not apologize for it. Yes, I, I agree
38:04and subscribe to that way of thinking 100%. I always use the oxygen mask analogy. It's so,
38:10so true. So important, you know, making sure that we're taking care of ourselves so we can take care
38:16of others. It really isn't selfish at all. It's really the best way to be able to show up for
38:21anybody else. And so especially, I'm curious, as you know, you have a new baby around, it's probably
38:27tough, you know, to get some alone time where what are you doing? How are you, you know, gonna give
38:33yourself some holiday spirit this year? Honestly, it's, you know, it hasn't been so bad. My kids,
38:40my, our sons are older, so they're nine and 10. And I actually have to ask for my baby. I'm
38:45like,
38:45can I please hold my daughter? You know, they, they love her. So it actually gives me time to take
38:51my
38:51naps, you know, go to Chick-fil-A, get a, you know, a frosted lemonade.
38:58If I want one, you know, leave my husband and, and the boys and, you know, my daughter at home.
39:04So
39:04I've just been trying to take advantage of, of this time where, you know, everyone's so excited.
39:09And I'm like, okay, great. You know, I went and got my hair done the other day.
39:12Um, just trying to not feel guilty about those things. I did cry before I left. You know, I was
39:17like, oh my God, you know, I can't believe I'm leaving. But it felt good. Like once I got there,
39:21and I was sitting in the, in this chair, I was like, I'm so glad I came, you know? And
39:25so
39:25you have to definitely take care of you for sure. So just the little things.
39:30Oh, I love that. The little things. So true. And self-care. Oh my God. A haircut. I hadn't
39:36had a haircut in so many months. And I finally went and got one recently. And I was just,
39:40I was like, oh, I missed this. Even with a mask on, I'm like, I missed this.
39:46So definitely. Okay. We're taking care of ourselves. We are drinking our wine. I love it.
39:51Then what about you? What is your remedy for your own holiday cheer?
39:57Well, I think this year, like I'm very much like, I love to do all the Christmas things. So I
40:02have
40:02like my list. Like I got to make my cookies every year. I got to decorate this, make that, um,
40:07watch
40:07these movies and get the presents. But sometimes I can also feel like stressful trying to get it all done.
40:14So I'm just going to chill out. I'm going to give myself a break. What gets done, gets done.
40:19And what does it doesn't. And that's fine. Um, I think there's this feeling in the past years
40:25where I was, I feel like I had to go, go, go the second the holiday season got here.
40:29So I'm not going to go, go, go this year. Like, I'm just going to chill out. I'm going to
40:34grab the
40:34line. I'm going to, um, you know, watch my movies. If I get the gifts that I get, I get
40:40them. And if
40:41I don't, it's fine. You know, I'm just, you know, just, I'm going to chill out. I'm going to enjoy
40:45the
40:45time. Oh, I, that's so important. Right. It's so important. We've all been go, go, go for so long
40:51that this whole, you know, pause is a good time to remember. Like you don't have to be on autopilot.
41:00You can kind of just take a break and like, remember to be present. And I think Jen, that's what
41:03you've been really talking about is simplify and be present in what you are doing. And you know,
41:09stuff you're saying, spend time with your family and be grateful for that. Like that is so spot on.
41:14So then I am inspired by you. I will be also couching it. I will be letting everyone know I'm
41:21taking time for me. I'll be taking care of myself while I'm writing my holiday cards to everyone.
41:28Um, I think that that is, I'm officially super ready for the holiday season. I think each of you have
41:34really inspired me and I hope it has inspired everyone that is watching. I'm ready for comfort
41:40food and cozy clothes immediately. So thank you so much for joining. And for anyone who missed the
41:49Christmas doctor, you can catch encore airings of it on Hallmark movies and mysteries on Wednesday,
41:56November 8th at 12 AM. So that's a good one to set your DVR for Thursday, November 19th at 2
42:03PM,
42:03Sunday, November 22nd at 10 AM and Saturday, November 28th. And definitely give it a watch.
42:10And also it's just a good reminder to be grateful for our frontline workers and people that are in,
42:15um, you know, in the front lines of the doctors and nurses. It's really just a very touching movie.
42:21So I can't, can't ask everyone enough to watch it. Jen, Steph, Sin, thank you all so much for joining
42:27us
42:28tonight. It was so fun talking with you ladies. I'm so grateful to have had this hour to share with
42:33you. So thank you so much for tuning in. We hope that everyone watching enjoyed this joy night in
42:39with Refinery29 and Campbell's and we hope you have a wonderful holiday season. Bye.
42:45Thanks for watching.
42:47See you next time.
43:28See you next time.
43:57See you next time.
44:27See you next time.
