00:09And if you're old, welcome back.
00:11Thanks for coming.
00:12We really appreciate it.
00:13Tonight I'm talking about my nighttime routine because the nighttime is a very important
00:18time in everyone's day.
00:20You've just dealt with whatever the day has thrown at you and now it's time to wind down.
00:25A lot of people are very set in their day or night routines, but I'm one of those people
00:29that mixes it up all the time.
00:31What I'm going to show you tonight is an overall overarching story of what I do on any typical
00:36night.
00:36But just know that every night is completely different.
00:39So yeah, I'm just going to dive right in.
00:41And if you have any questions, comment below.
00:43The first thing I do when I get home from work is I walk into the apartment and I throw
00:47all of my things down and then I head back out and I go on a walk.
00:52It does not matter to me what season it is, how hot or how cold it is outside.
00:56I love walking around New York City in the evening.
00:59New York is always on because this is the city that never sleeps.
01:03So I get out, I go for my walk, I clear my head, I really use it as a time
01:07to wind down
01:07from the day.
01:08And then I come back into my apartment and the first thing I do is take my makeup off.
01:14I don't normally do this but my mirror is looking awfully dirty at the moment.
01:21And then it's the time I've been waiting for since the moment I walked out of the house,
01:26washing my face.
01:28I love giving my face a good scrub and just getting the day off.
01:31Just take the whole day off with soap and water.
01:36Next it's time to wash my body.
01:38But I don't wash my hair every day, I usually only wash my hair every three to four days.
01:42So I threw on a shower cap and I got in the shower.
01:51When I get out of the shower it's time to do something therapeutic for my skin and my face.
01:56So I usually do some sort of a night time face mask.
01:59I have a lot of options, I have a ton of different masks that I love.
02:02One of my favorites is this turmeric cranberry mask from Kiehl's.
02:06I put it on and I leave it for five to ten minutes and just chill in the bathroom while
02:10it's doing its magic.
02:12And then I rinse it off.
02:14And once I'm done with that I'm pretty much done with the bathroom until it's time to
02:18brush my teeth later.
02:18I don't always cook my dinner, I'm just going to be honest with you here.
02:21Quite often I pick something up for dinner or I order in on seamless, but it's always
02:26my favorite nights when I cook something and I make a homemade meal and then I sit down
02:30and enjoy it.
02:31One of my night time specialties, and anyone who follows me on Instagram or Snapchat will
02:36attest to this from my stories, I love making my own desserts.
02:40Woo!
02:41I love dessert!
02:42And the best kinds are the no-bake desserts because they take two seconds to make, they're
02:47usually one or two ingredients, you're done and you've got something sweet to munch on
02:51for the rest of the night.
02:52This right here is one of my all-time favorite desserts and it's just yogurt bites that you
02:57freeze and turn into frozen yogurt.
02:59You spoon some yogurt into a Ziploc bag and then you just pipe it out into little dots
03:03onto parchment paper.
03:05Then you can top it with anything you want, rainbow sprinkles, honey, you name it.
03:10Pop it into the freezer and then when it comes out you have fro-yo bites.
03:15Simple, fast and delicious.
03:17After I've eaten, I go onto the couch and I watch TV.
03:20Watching TV is one of my favorite things to do, partially because I myself am a video producer,
03:25so when I watch other people's videos on TV, it really inspires me and gives me ideas of
03:30how I can creatively incorporate their ideas into my work.
03:34After I've watched my fix of television, I'm like, I need some silence.
03:39So I turn the TV off and I open my Headspace app, which is my meditation app, and I do
03:44a
03:45guided meditation for 10 to 15 minutes.
03:47It is not as easy as it seems to sit still for 10 to 15 minutes and just think, but
03:53when
03:53you have the guiding voice talking to you, it really makes it a lot easier.
03:56This is something I've definitely gotten into.
03:58I do this with my boyfriend a lot at night before bed and we both find that it calms us
04:03down and really just gets us ready to sleep.
04:05And once I'm done meditating, I get off the couch and I go back into the kitchen and this
04:09is the last hands-on kitchen-y thing I do before sleep.
04:13I make my coffee for the next morning.
04:15I didn't always make my coffee at home, but I started doing it and I realized it's way
04:19cheaper and it is really delicious to walk out of the house with a water bottle filled
04:25with ice, your coffee from the day before, and almond milk, and you just shake it up and
04:29you've got an iced coffee on the go.
04:31So good.
04:32So good.
04:33I always have a book at my bedside table, so when I get into bed, I try to read at
04:38least
04:38one chapter.
04:39I do a lot of writing at work and I find that when I read on the side, it positively
04:43influences my writing skills.
04:45Right now I'm currently reading Neil deGrasse Tyson's Astrophysics for People in a Hurry.
04:51It's good.
04:51But I'm on page 30 and I'm only at one billionth of a second through the big bang.
04:56So it's moving slow.
04:58Just before bed, I take some much needed time to respond to you guys.
05:03I get tons of Instagram comments, direct messages, tweets, Facebook messages, Snapchats.
05:09You name it and I need to respond.
05:11I really feel that as an online personality, it's my duty to communicate with the audience
05:16and ask you guys what you want to see and then when you ask me questions, to answer you.
05:21You gotta be a friend to have a friend.
05:23So I do my best.
05:24Typically, Michael is here because we live together so we share this bed.
05:28But when I filmed this video, he was actually working late that night.
05:32Which is why when I crawled into bed, I had to pull up a picture of him, zoom in on
05:36his
05:36face and pretend like he was next to me.
05:39But he's normally right there and we go through the whole night together and he doesn't normally
05:44work late and I'm so grateful for that.
05:46One other thing I'd like to say is that I brushed my teeth before bed and I forgot to show
05:50it in the video.
05:51I promise, just take my word for it.
05:53Ask Michael if you want, he'll tell you.
05:55And that is my nighttime routine.
05:58Once again, it's different every night but that's just the general gist of it.
06:01That's how it feels from my perspective.
06:03If you have any more questions, comment below and I will be sure to answer them for you.
06:07Please comment with your nighttime routine because I would love to know what you do that maybe
06:11I can adapt into my routine and make it a little bit more efficient.
06:14As always, please comment and let us know what other vlogs you want to see me do on this
06:19channel.
06:19See you next time.
