00:05I'm going to be trying to wear acrylic store-bought press-on nails for three days.
00:10I will record every step along the way and see how long they survive.
00:15They are Bring the Salon Home by Kiss Revolutionary Natural Nails.
00:20Are they going to last the whole three days?
00:21They're telling me seven on this box, man.
00:24My mom used to own a nail salon, and she would not let me do anything that wasn't professionally
00:29done.
00:30No, this is going to be a struggle.
00:32Definitely going to break my nail.
00:34Sorry, Mom, don't watch this video, but this is my adult rebellion.
00:38Okay, so now I have returned with acetone in hand, and I am going to clean all of my nails,
00:44even though they are technically already clean, because I do what the box tells me to.
00:50They're sizes.
00:51So I want to set myself up for success and match my nails with each of the little sizes
00:56right now.
00:57I knew these instructions were suspiciously simple because I am just not getting the
01:03whole sizing thing.
01:04But, so, in the instructions it says you should apply the glue to your natural nail in addition
01:10to the fake nail.
01:11Okay, so then you press the nail and you press it for five seconds.
01:16Ah, it looks so cute!
01:18Nothing makes me feel more like a Kardashian than having acrylic nails and needing to eat
01:25with a lot of precision.
01:28So, today is day two of my acrylic nails.
01:33So, I am here at work right now.
01:35I am just going to go ahead and grab a soda.
01:38So, I am about to do this like really carefully.
01:43Oh god, okay, yeah.
01:47Intact!
01:48I can't like type very fast and I am usually like a really fast typer.
01:53I am struggling really hard.
01:54You have to be very delicate with everything but all my nails here on straw.
02:00One perk of having really long nails is that they are great for scalp scratching and for dog scratching.
02:10It finally happened.
02:12I was on the bus and I emphatically pressed the stop button and my thumb fell off!
02:19Now I just have one stubby looking thumb with four very elegant looking fingers.
02:24I really can't believe that these have stayed on all three days.
02:28Like, I'm actually, like I didn't think they would.
02:30I just feel like life is so much better when you have acrylic nails on.
02:35Super sad face.
02:36Well, that was interesting.
02:38I officially concluded my three day press on nail experiment but the constant throughout
02:44is that I never actually forgot that I was wearing press on nails.
02:48Like, I was very aware every second of the weekend that I had these nails on my hands.
02:52It was such a blast.
02:53I honestly feel like it was a lot better for my nails than getting them professionally done.
02:58I kind of have to scrape to get the acrylic off.
03:01I feel like I was just so self-conscious about having them on because it's just so not my style.
03:06But I found myself getting like super addicted to them.
03:10I just felt really bad and bougie with them on.
03:13Probably not wear them regularly.
03:16But I do think they were a really easy alternative to getting a manicure.
03:20I really enjoyed having them and I highly recommend it and I'm probably going to do it again.
03:27Now I miss them.
