00:00Hey everyone, it's me, Jen, and welcome back.
00:02Today we're going to do a little DIY from my friend Kate's book, Hot Glue Gun Mess.
00:07This book is awesome because there's a bunch of funny stories about her life and she ties
00:11in a DIY project with them.
00:13So since my place needs a little bit more art, we're going to go for a horseshoe wall art
00:18thing.
00:19So let's get started.
00:24So what you're going to need is some wire.
00:27This is 10 gauge in silver, wire cutters, a pair of scissors, construction paper, hot
00:34glue gun, some glue sticks, and a photo frame with three options to put your photos.
00:40And you can get these all from your local craft store.
00:43So the first thing you're going to want to do is get the wire and you're going to make
00:46a little horseshoe shape out of it.
00:48Always go a little bit more than you think because it's easier to trim it.
00:52And then I'm just going to kind of mold it into the shape that I want.
00:58That looks pretty good.
00:59Yeah.
01:01And then you're just going to make three of the exact same shape.
01:04So use the first horseshoe as a template for all your other ones.
01:08I mean, they look a little bit different, but for the most part, it's the same.
01:13So, once you have all your horseshoes ready, take this out of its frame.
01:19And you have this little cutout guide for a reference.
01:21So you're going to get stretch paper and then you're just going to kind of eyeball it.
01:25And once you've marked out where the frame is, just cut off the excess.
01:29Let's measure it up to see if it fits.
01:33Bang on.
01:34That looks awesome.
01:35And now that this is all set up, you're going to get your little horseshoes and you're just
01:39going to position them to your liking.
01:42And so I'm just going to make mine go all directly in the middle.
01:45Now it's time for the fun part.
01:46You're going to get your hot glue gun, get a little glue stick, and you're going to just
01:50put the glue all around the metal bit.
01:53You can be pretty generous about how much you use because you really want it to stick
01:57on.
01:58Now, it can get pretty messy.
02:00There's a lot of little webs going on, but that's the art of crafting.
02:03If you see any weird webs, just make sure you tick that off.
02:07And it should dry pretty fast because it's a hot glue gun.
02:10Then you're just going to put it back inside your lovely photo frame.
02:16Ah!
02:16And that's it.
02:20And you can obviously hang this on a wall.
02:23Or even just have it on your bed stand for a little piece of art.
02:31Okay, so I think that looks pretty awesome there.
02:33I hope this inspired you to create your own DIY wall art.
