00:29In an interview with Guyana-based Media House Newsroom, commanding officer of the Guyana Defense Force Coast Guard, David Shamsuddin,
00:37spoke on Wednesday about the role to be played by the crew of the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard vessel
00:43at the site where the MV Barima sank.
00:46We have a total of seven Coast Guard assets. Seven Coast Guard assets that can actually maneuver the roughness of
00:54these waters.
00:55The GDFS Shahoud, which is our current flagship, she is leading the fleet of vessels here.

01:45Among those in attendance was Guyana's president, Dr. Mohamed Elfran Ali, and several top officials of his government.
01:51However, as of news time on Thursday, there was no update on the number of bodies recovered from the site
01:57of the MV Barima,
01:58which on Wednesday stood at 65, of which 44 had been positively identified by family members.
